Hybrids are all well and good, but they probably don't have a Katana as a gear lever.

£8k it seems. £10k for a nice one.

I will add they are not that fast and the engine is very quiet so you cant hear the V8 but I guess thats the whole deal with a Lexus.

Unless I've accidentally been extremely rude (in which case I'm sorry) it was just a joke on T-Rex having short arms.

I think I'd either be running it till it drops, and then putting it in the bin, or just bung it on Gumtree now.

That kind of garage bill buys a nice-enough E39 outright - a car that'll run rings around the Alfa in most objective and subjective measures.

Agreed, unless you can do some of the work yourself it’s the sort of bill that means you either stump up the cash and hope the worst is over then keep it a few years, or bail out early and hope whatever you get next is less spendy.

I paid £2.8k for it and it wouldn't feel honest bunging it on Gumtree etc. for some other mug to take the pain (plus, I've only had it three months so potential buyers would surely wonder). The problem with chucking lots of cash at it is the bodywork is still a bit meh so it still won't be properly well sorted - there are better cars to chuck cash at. I will ask what needs done to get it through an MOT and consider from there.

But no, I had no plan to keep it forever, so maybe it isn't a keeper.

Not immediate, worth doing in the future:

Total: £1790

Plus bodywork issues to resolve at some point.
Without wishing to urinate on your potato comestibles, I'd chalk that down to experience and get rid if it was me. It's not a 'great' car and it most definitely isn't a great example with that work needed. Either chase the 'greater fool' and stick it on the Bay, or run it until it breaks and then weigh it in. Enjoy the research in the meantime for something else.

Unless, I suppose, it's a dream car and you love it?
