Too sensibly? This would be my sensible car, so my other one can semi-retire! Some good points however... never had over 400bhp before, never had double glazing...

I know it's too small and not a V8/10/12 petrol but I like the look of this, as mini-barge/tip car (it's even got a boot liner).

C270cdi estate, in a good colour. £1500

Chaps, does anyone have any wisdom regarding sourcing OEM spec Japanese parts? Obviously there are plenty of options for German cars, but I’m struggling a bit with the Japanese stuff.

I may do a preventative radiator swap on the LS (they can leak and mix coolant and atf- never ideal) but there is a gaping chasm between Ebay and Lexus prices. Just wondering if there was something made to OEM standards but a bit more palletable price wise.

It took 10months & 3days, but here, finally is the forecourt shot for SL2, now registered, MOT’d and fully Cyprus legal.

NPH 144 shall henceforth be known as the χονδρικός

Required old merc. shot & photobombed on the way back from the Troodos summit.

And one more showing the beautiful CY wilderness.

I used Amayama.com a few times for genuine parts and was happy with prices and service.

Rockauto.com (US) I used for KYB shocks and were cheaper than all uk suppliers.

Expensive but this is straight from the source: https://www.amayama.com/en

Otherwise I'll get the part number and find stuff on yahoo japan (through buyee as a middleman) https://buyee.jp/yahoo/auction?lang=en

Failing that you could ask an importer, there are a few that will source hard to find stuff for you on facebook: Club Japan Imports and Nippon2U (not UK based) who will try and help.

Not had experience of the importers but Amayama has got stuff for my Skyline and Buyee some Japanese sales brochures for Crown's - both experiences were painless.

I live about 30 minutes away and spotted that on AT this morning. My unsuccessful GS300 purchase has left me perusing the usual websites. May want to check the MOT history.

The R500L auction ended. I was keeping an eye on it on the restaurant table, whilst tucking into a Rosa's Thai in Tooting, trying to talk myself into it. It was sat at £2,250 until a bid came in with seconds to go. £2,649.99 - I think that it's a good one.
And it’s been relisted- item 274127298938

The final bid from a zero feedback bidder, and speed of relisting, will only heighten suspicions that the vendor expected it to get close to, or exceed, thread max.

Interesting and thanks for the temptation Stegel. It was littered with sub-5 rated bidders until £2,000.

Had the first niggle with the new XJR today frown Just as I was pulling up outside the house this evening the headlights flickered off and then back on again. This also happened on one of the previous jags and was fixed by replacing the combined indicator/headlight switch stalk. I'm hoping it will be the same again rather than a different cause - there are plenty available on ebay at a reasonable price.

It's a bad time of year to suddenly find yourself without headlights eek

If it’s an x350, it could be worth checking the earth points behind the headlights, although they normally generate a few other messages on the dash

Has anyone ever driven through an underground car park barrier in Spain while trying to feed a ticket into a machine on the wrong side because the driver left it in park with the handbrake on then slipped on to the throttle while reaching over through the passenger window?

I have.

This is discussed regularly on LexusOwnersClub, but only for LS430s. The only thing that ever fails on 400s (ever!) seems to be weak bonnet struts, occasional leaky boots and dashboard bulbs for the air con temp display!

I would ask on there if a new rad is genuinely required. If so they do have a go to parts supplier (sorry name escapes me)
