I've had a disaster in the E46, I can't use the memory seat button, or the setting for dipping the passenger wing mirror when reversing. Something electrical has gone tits up, as whenever the motor activates for the wing mirror adjustment, the drivers side runs until it points to the sky and the passenger side runs till it points the floor.

I had to resort to manually adjusting them, like a poor person.
Might be worth resetting the seat control unit if you have the appropriate laptop and diag software, could be a fruity saved position for both that needs clearing out.
Possibly, but they actively fight against any adjustment when I play with the knob, so I think it's a bit more than that.

“I had to resort to manually adjusting them, like a poor person”

Good one. It should be in the PH first world problems page. Or, on a barge T-shirt.

2005 A8 - worthers barge spec 4.0 SE in a very rare green (for Audi) with beige.

It’s arguably steep for a 15 year old Audi, but has only 53k miles and in great condition compared to alternative A8s for that money.

At least it’s not black or silver with taxi miles.

It looks worthy, but I cannot help but be suspicious of the low mileage and high price combo. Cars like to be driven, don't they?

We had this before, it is a smart looking thing especially inside. Audi didn't make a 4.0 petrol, I think it's actually a 4.2, but can't exactly remember.

I do quite like them. Have any bargists had one?

Ah, sorry for re-post. A combination of great minds and absence over the festive period perhaps.

I think the beige helps mask the grown up Passat feel when compared to the usual black interior.

Ref Techno Classica: I'd like to book things this week. CdG, harrykul and BigBen (and any others), are we good for Thursday to Sunday?

As a reminder it runs 25-29 March. Information here: http://www.siha.de/tce_uk.php?m=1&ms=1

Tickets here: https://techno-classica.ticket.io/2kwmjed8/?

It's €22 in advance per day, €25 on the door.

Do we need international driving permits as I I am not sure?
I'm definitely up for it and will book tickets tonight.

I'm working on the basis of Thu at mine in Lux (currently Tobinen, Harrykul, Ben TBC - one or two others very welcome), Fri in a hotel (TBC) in Essen, Fri PM and Sat at the show, then departing Sat eve (for Brussels in my case to stay with a friend).

You won't need an international driving permit. As things stand, the current rules apply. You might prefer to get an Insurance Green Card but unless the French get arsey (as they do from time to time, nothing to do with Brexit!) at the ports you'll have no problems anywhere here.

ETA - Don't delay booking accommodation. The nearby options are already expensive.

Agree - I think you could get either 4.0 diesel or 4.2 petrol or 4.2 diesel.

Same in any car like that though? Hardly an issue is it? If it bothers you that much you can always do what I've done to my 460 which now runs Google maps, so more up to date than any OEM sat nav.

That looks like a football pitch sized centre console. I think I’d rather have more seat/knee room. (or fill the console with auxiliary switches!)

Sorry, thought you were talking about the actual screen and sat nav, rather than the centre console smile Looks similar in size to the LS, albeit yes, the LS is a much wider car (and has a lot more switches on the console wink )

Ok, so my plan thus far is to send the car to my storage guy near Reading in advance then fly in and drive from there. Perhaps I could meet with Tobinen and Ben and go in convoy?

Re accommodation, is the above a reference to Essen or Lux? Are there recommendations from anyone here?

Finally, perhaps we should creat a WhatsApp group to coordinate things better... DM me with numbers and I'll get it done.

Sounds like the Techno planning goes well chaps - please keep us updated with how you get on, so the poor sods who can't join can live it vicariously through your trials and bargeations.

Harry do you still have, and are you taking the 550? I imagine Ben will take his DB9, so you could be up to a mean cylinder count approaching ten!

I am unlikely to make it, don't have the leave to take a day off frown

I am considering joining at Essen, travel out Friday night on the Hook of Holland ferry and back Sunday on the tunnel. Or something

Mailed you my mobile.

Looking at hotels now, unless someone already has and can share info.

Mail me or use the WA group if Harry creates it. Trying to keep chatter down on the thread
