Phwoar.

I do miss my CX, but not quite as much as I don't miss hunting for parts.

Or some French wafty carpet ride

My dad had one of these on an E plate, I got my only speeding ticket ever 10 minutes into driving it to Prague. I'm going to send him the link!
What's with the gearstick? Is that standard?

What's the thing on a curly cable in the passenger footwell?

Radio needs setting fire to.

Love the bottle of oil in the spare wheel under the bonnet.

Other than that, *logs on to M&S to buy some new undergarments and trousers*

Plenty of thread worthy barges at that sale. I like this. Wheels not correct but may be a substitute for the orginal metric wheels. My old E23 had metric sombreros and I swapped them for normal steelies and hub caps.

That looks good on those wheels. Looks like the same colour as my old E21 too (Opal Green IIRC)

As ever with ACA, there's some great lots there. I would love at least a dozen cars from that list.

I bet that misfires if you ever took it out in the wet... who takes an engine photo showing one of the ht-leads is missing the insulator onto the dizzy - for pity’s sake... (yes, i know it’ll be the auction staff). But a simple fix at least.

This for me:

I bet it never goes out in the wet for fear of it fizzing into nothing anyway! That's a full wibble from me.

I'd love one of these with an Impreza drivetrain dropped in, what a thing that'd be for running to the tip.

Now that's an interior.

Stick a chrome grille on it and the neighbours will think you've bought a Rolls Royce Camargue.

Would that be a twin plenum edition? What a find...wonder what's wrong with it? £6k to play 'captain of industry' and friend of recovery men.
Twin plenum has two air feeds to the plenum (silver box in middle of engine).

The one in the advert has the usual single feed.

The 850i looks good for the predicted money and that black E55 is lovely, pre-facelift cars just have the perfect amount of menace to them.

If I brought that home I'd send up divorced, no ifs or buts. And it'd nearly be worth it.

Proportionately compared to new cars that get launched today, I wonder how much of an impact that E55 AMG was.

The lines of any 1st generation design is rarely improved upon. The E55 looks like a mobster’s minder.
