These feel so immensely solid.

I felt mine was boring to drive, then I had a storm soaked weekend driving from scotland to wales in it at the same speeds as a dry weekend. Great machines.
I really really really really really like that. I’m just not in the position to purchase at this very moment. I still need to sell my c220cdi.
That A8 does look smart.

Ooooo. Oooo. Oooooodjufinkyuarrrr?

You can’t just stroll in here and poke fun at old Citroens you know.

Wives and girlfriends (may they never meet) are fair game, but an old Citroen is off limits.

Original feature for sure, but what a bloody mess. I'd have the thing carefully removed without damage and stored.

I feckin hate spaghetti and stickers and screwed in stuff, period or no.

Always wanted something along the lines of that Eldorado.

Spotted a particularly tidy looking LS430 earlier - http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2019...

Joking, yeah? That's a shocker. The colour, the wheels, the price...

Tidy in the sense of clean. Not attractive. I think my views on gold cars are skewed by fond memories of a gold with beige interior one of these we had https://classicregister.com/vehicle-register/1980-... In New Zealand.

Yeh, it's not the nicest. Two-tone seats very rarely look good.
That Designo interior was an expensive option. Mine is just plain black!
Mine, for sale at the moment has 2 tone (black with purple interior) but a bit more subtle

That sounds more palatable, care to post a link, so we can see the interior? wink

Mini barge with a not mini engine:

2002 CLK 500 72k miles

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

A discrete rapid progress machine, surely?

I guess the concern will it be of the 2002 vintage.

Would you part with 4bags for it? 2002 must make it a niche market so should haggleable?

The estimate for the Eldorado seems rather low given the description, clean up excepted.

The V8 is more reliable than the V6 in these and fuel economy isn't too much worse. But a 2002 may still be hiding some significant rust, that wasn't sorted till 2004.

I really like the look of a late 5.5 litre CLK500 but my ex-MIL had a 2007 CLK220 kompressor from new and it was absolutely riddled with faults. The roof has failed halfway open or closed more times than I can remember, the trim rattles like an 80s Fiat, and they had a number of "failed to proceed" incidents all before it was 5 years old. I'm sure they aren't all like that, but I've heard enough tales of woe about them to know I don't want to risk it.

Black with purple is gorgeous!
I had that silver and black two tone on my C43 many years ago. Personally I loved it, however in photos the silver always looks white (I guess digital cameras can't handle the contrast with the remaining black interior) which doesn't help it. But worse is the wear, it looks really manky once the colour is lost like on the steering wheel of that E55.

Even rarer were cars with Designo wood trim that was available in all kind of whacky colours. I very rarely see it on UK cars, in Germany they pop up a bit more often.

Two tone interiors don't look too bad on the E39 M5 - the black/blue combo is particularly handsome, especially in the facelift cars with the distinctive and characterful ostrich leather, which is also very tactile. Additionally, an MB Club member recently had an SLK for sale with a black/red interior which looked very inviting and sporty.

Thinking out loud... I have a very unusual urge to buy one of these, and put it into a very dry lockup for a decade or so.

I can imagine these becoming pretty collectable in the future.
