Hello all and Happy New Year!
Land Cruiser update: The recent wet weather has produced all manner of electrical gremlins. They vary from car not locking or unlocking by the remote to lights staying on in the dash like the seat belt warning light to not engaging reverse. I suspect it's a bad door seal or blocked sunroof drain as the passenger's footwell had a puddle and very wet plastic panel near the door hinge after last week's heavy rain.
Moving on, I saw this video on the LS 400 Coach Edition . I wonder what made this edition different to the normal LS400?
I had just signed on to post that same video to this thread - it makes me want one even more - it’s nice to see a tour of the oily bits.Land Cruiser update: The recent wet weather has produced all manner of electrical gremlins. On the face of it, a 124 280 7 seater should be a good option at a mere £890. In Bradford. Oh jees, what did they do that for?? I'll bet you'll rush out to do the same to yours tomorrow when Halfords opens.

Always partial to a bit of Bornite. Looks pretty good, nice bit of wheel-trimmery.
Weird, Gumtree seems to have a case sensitive search- I get different W124s to w124s...
Merely a 200, but this one seems to have had work done and will have a new ticket, but needs cosmetics at £1200.

In other news, folks...
Some of you regular Bargistas might have been wondering where Derin has gotten to lately...
Christ on a bike - having had to retire early, buy an SUV and move across country would be enough for anyone, and his luck has gotten worse? Some of you regular Bargistas might have been wondering where Derin has gotten to lately...
Seriously hope things perk up for him soon. In the meantime, I’ll re-evaluate my current situation and count my blessings once more.

Production of the UCF20 ran from October 1994 to July 1997. For 1997, a limited "Coach Edition" LS 400 was produced in partnership with American leather manufacturer Coach Inc. The edition featured Coach leather seats; embroidered emblems on the exterior, floormats, and armrest; special colors and added trim; and a Coach cabin bag. Production was limited to a yearly run of 2,500 units.[71
Also all the best for Derin! Couple of honest sounding thread favourites from the 'Trader:
A gravel dwelling 7 seat E500 for £3k ish:

And an X5 4.8 with a highly useful extended warranty for the same:

Both sound tempting but have a number of other outgoings at present demanding attention...

Here's one that I don't recall having seen on this thread... an S211 in 'Classic' specification! Unfortunately not enough pics, but it seems honest enough and check out those alloys!:
E240 S211
As mentioned - taxi spec. This is great as it means less to go wrong. Coupled with ballon size sidewalls = very thread. E240 S211

My S211 isn't a thread car as such....in that it cost me more than double the top of thread budget, 3 years ago.
It's a E55 on a 54 plate and is currently costing me a fking fortune, with a service and MOT still to come this month.
This thread did inspire it though, as I went from a succession of new cars, to going out looking for something thread worthy in a E500 flavour. Then I had a go in a E55 and bought that instead, obviously!
We lead parallel motoring lives. My 54-plate E55 estate just had a service and MOT. Throw in some brake bits and a couple of parking sensors and it ended up setting me back a grand. In three years and just over 20K miles I've spent over £4K on it. Does 20mpg at best. Now over 160K miles so I'd struggle to get much for it. However, its continued willingness to accelerate almost instantly to any speed of my choosing means I have exactly zero regrets. A lengthy ad for possibly the cleanest looking S210 I've seen for a while.........
