But why take the injection off? That’s a strange move isn’t it?
Corrosion will need sorting before next MOT. I suspect their man said don’t bring it back next year!
I thought these had carbs on them could be wrong

I thought these had carbs on them could be wrong a quick Google reveals they did have carbs on the 3.5 and 3.9

It's better than hot. It 100% tented my trousers. I'd rate it at 2x Willoughbys.
Tut. That's not how it works.
How does it work? That volvo is twice as nice as Holly. So there.
Just as puny man cannot comprehend the vastness of the universe, you're blithely playing with dangerous concepts here. I find it frightening in scale and, frankly, heretical.

It's pitchfork time.

Pah, that's rich coming from the man who developed a desirability scale without considering the Theron metric.
The Theronosphere is simply beyond us.

Holly likes chips, beer and thinks trumping is hilarious. Much more thread.

There’s no point in any of us losertrons getting ourselves in a tizzy about Theronomics.
Thanks for shattering my dreams Jim.

Seems a popular conversion to put carbs on them like the earlier models probably more reliable than old EFI stuff

In a slightly less facetious fashion than most of my recent offerings, many will be aware from a previous update by someone else (was it Krikkit, I can't recall?) that our old pal Derin has had a rough time of it over the past few months.

Following that disclosure I was in an e-mail exchange with Derin and he has asked that I pass on his gratitude for the positive comments here. He's not yet up to re-engaging with our particular brand of lunacy, but he appreciates the fact that people have been concerned and asking about him. Hopefully we'll see him back before too long.
I don't contribute on a daily basis like many, but it will be good when one of the biggest players of the game returns.

In other news, my barge continues to reward my gratuitous investment with an imperious drive through Storm Dennis with family and luggage in tow. Thankfully, the roads were clear due to, I presume, the caution over hitting the roads in the forecast storm. 100mph cruising for miles is living the dream in the UK.

It did, however, take an age to get comfortable. I've no idea why my two memory settings (one for Mrs Bolide) just weren't doing it for me, but I had it sorted half way up the extremely wet M40.
Driving though storms with confidence is where it hard to put a value on pure economics.

On the M4 the other week through storm what’s her name, I was glad to be in the heavy S211 & not a new highish sided light PCP washing machine SUV.
Two points here:

i) Please make sure you get a photo of 155551 miles.
ii) Agree on not being in a high sided car in high winds, driving the i3 the past few weeks has given me an idea of what the pilots in all the recent storm landing videos are experiencing.

Ben
As far as Mrs Bolide will be concerned, BigBen will be entirely responsible from interrupting either a nap or a selfie, for a pointless (in her estimation) photo of my binnacle.

Consider it done.

It is a sacrifice I am willing for her to make! I 'think' I have a picture of my late lamented S211 hitting the same figure.....

Can you post the link? If it isn't a scam, I'd have that unseen. And I'm sober.
Hmmm...

I messaged the seller within minutes of it being listed, asked for some photos of the rust etc, and was told they would get some for me. Offered to put down a deposit, alongside asking a few more probing questions, and suddenly it's "first come first served" and "some other people" are now magically ahead of me in the queue... this despite me asking if anyone else had dropped a deposit on (no, they haven't) and offering to buy unseen.

Something is't right imho.

I think the price is an eye catcher, but he probably doesn’t want too many searching questions.
If the rear arches need doing, the boot floor will. If the inner wings need doing, the bulkhead will.
It’s on a carb for some reason and someone mentioned 3.5, but it should be a 3.9 EFI.
I wouldn’t lose too much sleep if I was you.

3 times top thread, LHD, a photo-shopped driver, and an advert rich in fromage, but Stegel might appreciate this.

He does indeed - a close relative of “our” car. Seems a good price for the mileage, I daresay import and LHD impacts value like it does with the similarly afflicted 560SLs on the listings below which look like bargains relative to tatty RHD cars.

I cannot speak for the thread, having not been amongst the nominated top tier of this thread and certainly not amongst the snobbiest, but in my view, expect to be shouted at enthusiastically by the CAPSLOCK-KING, whilst handing the man your cash, with no negotiation, one way ticket, forecourt shot etc.

Then bear responsibility for the next volume of Lexus loving thread tedium until R129SL pops up and nudges us collectively back into Euro-barge loving senility.
