Because most people under 40 consider jags old men's cars, and it's not as good as the german stuff well just let them carry on thinking this and we'll soak up the bargains. I really should get another v8 jaguar soon

Never seen any of them, Stanley Unwin on the other had was worth seeing
I thought I was the only one.
I am actually quite chuffed to discover Professor Stanley Unwin popularised the term Deep Joy which seems quite thread. Apparently he heard it whilst working at Plessey (not what I’d pictured him doing).

Another for the tee shirt?

I'd definitely get an XJR or XF instead.

ETA: Just stumbled across this one too, full wibble.

You're a man of unassailably good taste. That looks to me to be a lovely motor to me, and would be my pick also.

It would be impossible to me not to swap the drive pullies on the supercharger for a slight overdrive, a slightly free-er flowing exhaust and a rolling road remap to a bit over 500hp... yum

Edit to add: all while looking like a grandad wagon on small inoffensive wheels, no spoilers, lips, uncouth holes in bodywork etc. Yes. That would do just fine!
That one looks all the better looking at the MOT history as well. The only minor fly in the ointment is the paint on the passenger rear door, maybe a bit of tlc required there.

Why is it that fast Jags depreciate so much, whilst a Merc or BMW of the same performance from that era is x2 as much?
They're cheaper to begin with, and lots of potless yahoos aspire to an AMG, M, or RS, which props them up once they get cheaper.

Very few potless yahoos want a Jaguar. There are literally only a few of us, I think.

Apologies for the infrequent posts. I've been faffing about with all sorts of boring stuff which isn't looking at or purchasing barges.

The W124 went in to a *A NEW MAN* for the MOT. And failed. Rubber steering whatsit and emissions (how boring). Now being rectified. Does anyone know what the usual W124 320 failure on emissions is caused by? Hopefully I will know tomorrow and it won't be too expensive (famous last words).

The e39 is in the process of being flogged to what sounds like a nice enough man.

I have moved on from the idea of an i3 to a Tesla model 3 performance. The idea of cheating the government of tax (while still really paying through the nose for all the other costs of a new car) is immensely appealing.

Don't worry - I still intend to get a v8 or v12 S Class for a trip to Italy in a couple of months, and I will keep various old mercs!

I know pretty much nowt about these, other than I think they are based on the Renault Espace platform. Are these worth a gamble? I love something a bit different and this is just a couple of miles away.

I expected it to be sold really quickly, but it appears to have been relisted. What's the catch? Poor parts availability?

FFRR Supercharged, with full RR history, from what appears to be a Jaguar / Landrover indie, creeping out of top thread at £5995. This seems like an awful lot of metal for the money...

Cripes. Not black/22” wheels/naff mods either. Cheap road tax too. Glad it’s so far away!

Some of you may have seen what this guy did with an S600 exhaust. He's now doing the same with a Century, go to 6.0 minutes in, teaser right at the end. I expect he'll do a full video when it's all done.

The 3.5 is a chain driven unit which is smooth, reliable and loves a big drink in that boxy beast. Don't believe the AT figures, 16 around town assumes a tail wind and a downward slope. On a long run it purrs nicely and you can see upwards of the 33 quoted, so your driving habits will determine if this is one you would want to run. It feels quicker than 8.3 to 60, mainly the smoothness of the engine.

Trim is hard to source, lights, bumpers, much of the interior is unique to the VS.

Hubnut did a review, not sure what engine this was, worth a watch. I think he was underwhelmed, but if it was a derv I'd have expected it. The petrol is quite different in character.

Here's his vid

Are those wheels not off of a RRS? Mismatched wheels is a bugbear of mine.

I believe they could be optioned, but an afternoon on eBay would cure that.

under 6.5K , possible haggle without taking up the warrany/part-ex, its tempting me ........... although the front badge would have to go.
In my view, the only likelihood of these ever looking 'good' is in black, with black trim and black everything. Then more black. No leapers neither guv.

Do you not prefer them with a sparkly goatee?

With some colour coded leather (ish) and added sheep?

Not that anyone will buy one so I won't link to this on AT which at £3k at least has a price grounded more in reality than the silver shed, if you wanted to find it, Obvs you couldn't miss it.

In other news, my barge continues to reward my gratuitous investment with an imperious drive through Storm Dennis with family and luggage in tow. Thankfully, the roads were clear due to, I presume, the caution over hitting the roads in the forecast storm. 100mph cruising for miles is living the dream in the UK.

It did, however, take an age to get comfortable. I've no idea why my two memory settings (one for Mrs Bolide) just weren't doing it for me, but I had it sorted half way up the extremely wet M40.
Driving though storms with confidence is where it hard to put a value on pure economics.

On the M4 the other week through storm what’s her name, I was glad to be in the heavy S211 & not a new highish sided light PCP washing machine SUV.
Two points here:

i) Please make sure you get a photo of 155551 miles.
ii) Agree on not being in a high sided car in high winds, driving the i3 the past few weeks has given me an idea of what the pilots in all the recent storm landing videos are experiencing.

Ben
As far as Mrs Bolide will be concerned, BigBen will be entirely responsible from interrupting either a nap or a selfie, for a pointless (in her estimation) photo of my binnacle.

Consider it done.
Somehow we managed to 'Get.Snap.Done.'

I think they *might* be genuine Supercharged wheels? My previous L322 had something very similar to those on, albeit in 20" flavour (a factory option in the handbook).
