I've had this car, 2009 with a manual.
I was young, I tuned it, of course, engine, suspension, exhaust, brakes.
Yes, it understeered when getting on the gas from slow corners, which was anyway idiotic driving.
The car was all-year-round brilliant otherwise.
I only missed bucket seats, because the "sport" seats were utterly subpar.
And the entertainment system was downgrade from the VW system I had in my 2007 Golf GTI (which had touch screen and had way faster response than what TTRS had).

I would NOT debadge and would NOT remove the fixed wing that makes the car stand out and makes it look less like a bar of soap.

I switched from beloved TTRS to 997Turbo, just because that was my dream then and I still have it though rarely drive it these days. Meanwhile I also had a 2014 981 Boxster S, with the full option list on it, including sport suspension (20mm lower), sport exhaust, ceramic brakes.
Now, THAT is in my opinion a real sportscar!
I loved the TTRS, but I absolutely ADORED the Boxster S.
Everything about Boxster S was better than TTRS, except the power (TTRS was 420hp, 600nm), but the power of 981S was more then enough, and it was NA power, so The Sound was better, acceleration was slower but sweeter, seats, all contact points, then handling, the steering, you name it, 981S was sharper and more exciting than TTRS, but the Boxster was not the year-round car and TTRS was.
I have never tried Cayman S/GTS/GT4, these must be orgasmic, given how magnificent the Boxster S was.
Funny- just made the move from Megane 275 trophy to my first RS4 (B8 4.2v8).
I too fancied a change but with a second kid on the way makes more sense. Always liked the TT and although I love pistonheads and evo etc, there is actually more to life than simply driver involvement if you’re running one car (and that comes from a long line of old pugs and lotus exige/ evoras).

No shame in going from a Megane to an RS4, great purchase. I do miss the sharpness of my Megane but on a morning like today, I very much enjoyed the comfort and the heated seats in the TT...I too fancied a change but with a second kid on the way makes more sense.
