GR Sport is like S Line Audi, ST Line Ford etc. For a few models in the range

GR is the true sporty version.

Ooh, turns out there's a JDM Toyota Vitz that's 4wd with multi link suspension, so it could be done...

I'm going to look like a prat if I'm wrong but I'm hoping for a 4wd monster. smile
#yayforbeingright!
biggrin
I wish that whole range came to the UK and we lost most other manufactures hehe

Surely there's a case for following the ST165, ST185 and ST205 and giving this the GT-FOUR name?

The Supra has come back... persistent rumours of an MR-2 return... There may not be room amongst all that for a Celica, but if the Yaris took up the GT-FOUR badging, you'd have almost a full 90's spread! smile
And there’s the Corolla GR that’s just been announced although hybrid https://blog.toyota.co.uk/toyota-corolla-gr-sport-...
What about the Camry TRD available only in the US next year: https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a28957090/202... another interesting car we don't get frown I think it's the same engine as my Crown which can be supercharged!

Looking forward to this, need a small 4wd pocket rocket in the world to bring back memories of the sunny GTiR and continue onwards from the Sti Evo, Celica etc rally cars.

The WRC spoiler would be too much. Something just enough, bigger than normal so those in the know will know wink

Interestingly the Nurburgring car isn't as wide, doesnt have rear discs and has a different front end to the new released AWD video. I don't think its the same car at all on the Nurburgring, more likely a lesser spec model.

What makes you sure it won't use the haldex system if it does have all wheel drive? I would imagine it'll be the front wheel drive biased haldex or whatever the one in the focus RS is called.

Do you track your car or go everywhere sideways on the public road? Because if not a gen 5 haldex system is more than capable of being an entertaining drive on the road and not like the understeering and dimwitted systems of old. Have you driven one?

im in norway, I know how haldex works thanks and for winter driving I dont like it - its understeer city everywhere until the rears hook up after a nanosecond but by then you are already plowing out somewhere making it a rather unpleasant experience

It can be modified with VCDS to be less FWD biased but it's not really designed for true snow driving so your point still stands for that situation.

Muddy boots

Toyota WRC cars are pretty epic. They have more appeal than euro cars currently.

I just hope they go over the top with the road car, to get past the Yaris name.

Yep, something strangely appealing about that. I'll have white, with some daft stickers and white wheels.
