Surely nobody would buy it at £35k though.
They're aiming for big sales numbers, so it'll need to be a half sensible asking price.
Can't wait to see the specs and numbers though.

This joins an incredibly small list of new cars I would actually consider buying (alongside ND MX5, Mustang GT, Giulia QF, Lexus LC500), fingers crossed Toyota make it as mental as it looks
3-cyl is a fantastic move for this. Highly boosted 3-cyl should be one of the best sounding engines in the segment!
Also, I'll revise my pricing estimate to around £30k - I was basing it on a Golf GTI/R pricing, and turns out they're a couple grand cheaper than I thought they were! Should still be a great package for that amount of money, and on the face of it, virtually without direct competitors. Are there any AWD sub compact (fiesta/polo size) hot hatches these days in EU?

No. I was going to say Suzuki swift but the sport model is FWD. Thing people missed is that Toyoa made the urban cruiser which was a Yarius on stilts and sold it here in Switzerland as AWD. I would be very interested in this Yaris. Have you read the updated article? 25,000 of a 4wd 3 door hatchback is a lot.
I've been wondering about that one. Even desperate enough to go on the FIA site to look for the homologation rules. Way I understand Group N is that they need to sell 2500 units of the thing they want to homologate out of 25000 of the base car the model is developed from.Selling 25k cooking Yaris should be easy. Selling 2500 GR-4 at a (too) high price also. Especially if the specs posted earlier on the thread are true.
Anyone with better knowledge on that homologation business?
