Nope. The engine cover on the SVJ isn't hinged. You need a separate key to release locks on either side of it and then remove the whole thing in one piece. It's tricky to do by yourself as it's fairly large (but relatively light). Making it glass would I imagine make it very difficult indeed to remove as a one man job, which in turn would make things like topping up the oil impossible without help. So in summary, apart from the width, the total lack of rear visibility, the fact it's about 6 inches off the ground and requires the nose lift activated to get over speed bumps and out of carparks etc, the ancient gearbox, the total lack of storage and tiny boot, and the nearly horizontal windscreen that makes it impossible to see traffic lights change if you're first in the queue it is not the thinking man's supercar...but luckily nobody has ever accused me of thinking!
Will try and post some pics later. There is a (st and upside down) one in my profile.
I’m personally not sure that super cars should be made overly easy to live with to be honest, the more you have to sacrifice/put in the better the rewards as far as I’m concerned (excluding really poor design of course). Better to be picking holes in something special than something mundane as well so hats off for ya for being in the position to own one and enjoy it. Will try and post some pics later. Have you noticed the constant blue flames under downshift and load yet @easytiger123??
Love the satin black paint. My old Murci SV was nero nemesis! I haven't noticed the blue flames though that's not to say they aren't present...I'm generally concentrating on not killing myself!Have you noticed the constant blue flames under downshift and load yet @easytiger123??
