Hmmm... Original monocoque, 5 pts.
Suspension, steering, axles, engine, transmission all transplants, 0 pts. Doesn't meet the 8 point criterion.
I love the concept, but how does he get away without a Q-plate?
ETA I see the axles are original, but that's still 7 points total.
It doesn't require a Q plate as it's the original shell/vin number and reg plate. Suspension, steering, axles, engine, transmission all transplants, 0 pts. Doesn't meet the 8 point criterion.

The only thing DVLA needs to know is a change in engine capacity. The fact its cobbled together from three cars is irrelevant..

Glad to see it is sold. A really nicely done conversion and I'm surprised it hasn't received more praise here. Must be a hoot to drive. I agree some subtler wheels would be nice.
17's would be a minimum to clear 323mm front brakes with 4 pot Brembos. I think they look quite subtle as they are. A nice oem upgrade that tie in well with the Audi theme, hybrid conversion. Arsecati said:
I was thinking more along the lines of a 3.0TDi. Mine is mapped to about 280bhp and 440ft/lb's torque and has been up to a GPS timed speed of 154mph with a bit more to go (and mines an A6 tank instead of a lighter A4!). Cost me a fair bit of money 10 years ago when I bought it, and due to the fact I now have about 206,000 miles on the clock, is barely worth a pack of Planters - but has never let me down, still looks like a car with a third of the miles, and still allows me to carry or tow all my crap, while allowing the dogs plenty of fresh air in their gobs when they stick their heads out the window! I have other vehicles for kicks - but can't see myself getting rid of this for years yet.
An easy 200mph flat out then The reason for not going for more power was because it was a daily driver and pushing for much more from the K04 would have needed more engine work and a different turbo along with other supporting modifications.
However it was always part of the long term plan when it wasn’t carrying out daily duties so hopefully the new owner will continue with that.

Naaaah mayte, I swear I 'ad it up to One Aytey on the A4 dually last week on way to Gav's burfday pahhhty!!!!In all seriousness, I was actually following Darkside Developments progress with their A5 3.0TDi and did exchange a few emails with them about what could be done to mine a while back.......
....but then reality hit that I'd be spending 3 times the value of the car to god knows what avail, it would STILL be worth fug all, and with getting close to 200k miles on the clock at the time....... would probably have exploded after one attempt! After near 10 years with the car now, the only figures I pay attention to on the screen are the MPG figures: instead of MPH any more, I'm constantly aiming to hit the magic figure of '600 miles per tank'!

See here.
I'm not supporting the legal position, but from what that says the car needs to be on a Q-plate, precisely because it is cobbled together from 3 cars. Happy to be shown something that proves otherwise.

So 4k. I would rather an S3.
The point is that the Octavia is an estate and even the mk1 has a large boot. The S3 does not, it is a super-mini. It is like the reviews of the vRS Octavia where somebody comments 'I'd have a Golf GTi as they are nearly as cheap on lease', when the whole rationale of the Octavia is the space within it. its not a new car so i imagine the market for a used modified estate is pretty small, and you are spending 4k,i think similar engined cars are a valid option.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
