Subaru have no interest in the UK market, I imagine when they do annual reports in Japan, the UK and parts of EU too - will be at the bottom like the last match on MOTD.
People in the USA tend to be less fooled and it's a main market as well as Asia of course and most Swedes would drive a Subaru.
Subaru in the UK and a number of mainly Nordic countries are imported by a concessionaire - International Motors. IM have changed to IM Group and whilst they still import cars, it seems very much secondary to IM Properties & IM Finance.People in the USA tend to be less fooled and it's a main market as well as Asia of course and most Swedes would drive a Subaru.

Oh so your insight is from having no experience of either, i.e totally worthless.
Apart from an older WRX, a Legacy, back in the 90’s when nobody knew what they were and a recent viewing of a Type RA-RYes, no experiences at all.
And it doesn’t take a genius to know, that when you have a preference for a certain chassis and type of car that;
1. A bloated 4WD with a WRX badge won’t do
2. An auto barge made for the US isn’t exciting
I have driven a Spec C, new WRX and have a modified Forester STI as my practical family car.
All are very good but the issue I have with Subaru is they have stayed still since the mid 90s/early 2000s when they were a dominant force in the WRC.
Their standard stuff holds some appeal but I can't see why you would buy one over a Volvo. Or a BMW if you like driving.

Volvo's are awful. They are comfy with nice interiors. That's it, that is almost the entire business.
I wouldn't buy a Subaru if I liked that sort of thing, it wouldn't even register but someone looking to buy an Impreza STi also isnt even going to be considering a Volvo.

Instead of Volvo, what about Honda. Or Mazda? What does Subaru offer in reality these days?

A 320d oil burner gets him a hard on it seems, not even sure why he feels the need to respond to or intervene with threads on a Subaru, it's only making him more a fool he already comes across. He may have some insecurity issues or something but I'm sure there is a BMW sub forum somewhere he can get a fixyonex said:

Haha. Comparing cars from the 90s with brand new cars. genius. Its always good to have a laugh on a Sunday.
It’s no surprise that someone tedious doesn’t list a garage, in fact it’s a given. The fact are Subaru make fun of the mill cars, no more, no less. https://www.autos-motos.net/en/home
The ultimate driving machine, hahaha. Only fools believe that Shiite now.

You’re funny. Come back when you’ve got a proper performance car, I’d suggest a 320d will improve your life immeasurably. Faster, better image, you know, living the dream. Sell the shed and step into the future eric, it’s wonderful.ericmcn said:

No insults, just give fact and reasoned opinion.

Tell me what is so good about Subaru's current UK range and why they are superior to everything remotely comparable.

To answer a question with a question as some posters do..... what other AWD estate cars can be had brand new for £28k?No insults, just give fact and reasoned opinion.
Ignoring the bickering above..
I really fancy one of these. I think they look great and I've driven a UK 1.6 turbo (now replaced with 2.0 N/A) and enjoyed it. The interior seemed great to me but it retained some Subaru character albeit a bit sanitised with the elctronic steering and more refinement compared to Subarus of old, but that seems to be the case with practically all new cars.
I don't really get the hate for the CVT. Ok it sounds a bit odd like you're/it's slipping the clutch, but you soon get used to it, and it's allowing the engine to stay at optimal revs for power or efficiency according to demand - what's not to like about that? Ok I'd prefer a manual in a way too, but I don't see the difference to a DSG or auto really, except it's a more elegant solution. Aparently the 'Eyesight' driver aid/autopilot stuff only works with an auto, hence the focus on CVT from Subaru lately. I've heard it's actually a Nissan box with so-so reliability, but that's another matter.

Do you ever post anything other than utter drivel? What's your obsession with diesel BMWs? Why do you behave like an antagonist throbber all the time? That will forever be his legacy.
