And the cure for the turbo lag was simply to be in a lower gear with revs high before attempting anything heroic. The way It could gather pace was extraordinary. More like a theme park ride than a car.
Driving around in a low gear with high revs, and the resultant short time on boost before having to change up a gear, isn't much of a cure. I wouldn't have looked over a decade ago if I didn't fancy one, but they were £10-15k back then. The better B7 RS4 Avant for half the money today makes more sense to me.Edited by blade7 on Friday 15th November 14:58

Earlier this year i decided to put all that crud and rust underneath into the bin and give the underneath a full refurb, a couple of pictures of the old girl now.
No idea of value of mine but its not for sale anyway so i wont get stressed over it, as others do, its a great drive and is so "wolf in sheeps clothing", it surprises many.

It does look impressive. I just don't have the patience to do similar to my 28 year old toy car though.
With mine it was a case of getting it done asap or letting it rot and losing it to the elements, i just had to bite the bullet and do it. I didnt do it myself i found a place who had blast equipment and coating, the experience, knowledge and knowhow and who came in at a decent price. I didnt really have a choice as i love the car anyway and knew i wanted to keep it.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
