Looks a bit awkward to me. It isn’t particularly well resolved at the front. Certainly not beautiful in the classical sense, and is way too similar in my opinion to other brands.

Doesn’t even have the circle lights at the back. If you took the Ferrari badge off this, would it even look like a Ferrari?

Ever since Ferrari took their designs in house they’ve struggled IMO.
I agree, the Pininfarina designs are better to my eyes.

"but they are a bit afraid of driving a Ferrari or driving a sports car."

Expect: compact modern-era Dino with 250bhp and basic but comfortable trim

Plot twist: 620bhp behemoth with gadgets galore a d which costs more than a house

I don't think they quite met their design brief...

Have a feeling Ferrari may have pinched the Alfieri from Maserati to make this.. The same as they did with the California.
For sure. Have been waiting for Alfieri for a long time!

Having said that, Maserati still looking like launching at Geneva. Probably very similar but with V6/hybrid. Will complete the “model range”, but leave Ferrari with the pure V8, and Maserati on the lower rungs.

Is this another Ferrari "daily driver" where the owner will be reluctant to do more than 500 miles per year for fear of decimating its future monetary value?
Try speaking to actual owners.

At my daughters school, there are two FFs and a GTC/4 Lusso that do 10k+ per year. There is also a 612 Scaglietti with 120k on the clock. Similar stories with Huracans, 911 GT3s, Aston Zagato & DBS, and thats before the run of the mill AMGs etc.
This is an interesting point as I would have thought that the obvious candidate to exhibit a change of focus towards daily driving would have been the existing GTC/4 with it's additional practicality then having this smaller car as being more focused.
my FF is now at c. 74k km - bought it with 11k on it 4 years ago. Some people do drive their cars and don't give a f... about future values (it is called being a car nut smile )

pic for good measure

Fair play. Dare I ask, how much is an annual service on that??
the first 7 years the service was included. I think I pre-paid the service next year when extending the warranty and it was c 1,100 Euros plus VAT (the annual warranty cost is somewhere in the 4-5k plus VAT range I think).

My 456GT at >60,000 miles. Did the NC500 in it this year.
pic for good measure!

I didn't realise you oversaw Ferrari's design briefs ... wow you must be really annoyed they didn't follow this one.

Do you think they've done a good job meeting the publicly-stated specification?

Why is 620bhp and 500+Nm appropriate for a RWD car aimed specifically at sports car newbies?

Go and look up a Dino or Daytona to see what Ferrari used to be about.

Likewise.. still holding out that they do the Alfieri, and that it actually looks like the concept. I saw they announced they are launching something early next year. (As you said, I expect it will be at Geneva.) So lets hope its that.

V6 hybrid could work, but its a Maserati, it needs to sound the part, as well as having character. I've got high hopes, but I think the GT replacement will make or break them as a brand now. They are hanging on, just.. but another model that's like the Ghibli would kill the brand I think. Maserati's aren't German rep mobiles, they need to get back to their roots, and what always made them so appealing in the past.

Back to this Roma thing, it just doesn't look like a Ferrari. It's a good looking car, but doesn't shout Ferrari to me. There isn't enough lines through the body like there was with the Pininfarina cars, it looks a bit 'soft' and to me those don't look like Ferrari rear lights. Not a fan of the front grill either, it looks like a plastic washing basket. Will be interested to see one in the flesh to properly pass judgement.

such a pretty car - is yours a manual? That is the one thing that would improve the FF (well and a tow hook)

I quite like that. Suspect if I could afford it I would have a DB11 Volante instead though....

I think - the new sports car buyers - are more likely referencing people who currently buy cars such as a BMW M6, Merc amg e-class coupe (whatever that is called) and the likes.

This looks great, a surprisingly unfussy, clean shape by todays standards. It has quite a classic shape to it with the long bonnet (which looks somewhat Daytona-esque to me), shark nose, and curvy haunches. I'm not completely sold on that mesh type form above the front splitter, and the grill, but minor details aside it's a very fine looking machine.

Also, I have to say that this is a very bland, boring colour for me, I'm sure it will look more dramatic and exotic in a more striking hue. This looks like that pale pastel blue/grey that Rover 75's came in, with the hear aid beige interior. I wonder if there's a tartan blanket for the parcel shelf and a years subscribtion to the Telegraph cost option?

yup I remember when they replaced the last Quattroporte with a car that was available as a diesel - killed it for me personally (and the design looked much less special too). Highly subjective, but when they did that I thought "well now I might as well buy a [objectively better] German car, M5 or the like"

I reckon in a nice deep green (Verde Pino or something similar) would look fantastic on this.

I'd echo a few other comments above. Great to see a car company with such a breadth of vehicle types. And, kept pretty well under wraps vs some of the ridiculously contrived "leaked launches" we seem to suffer these days.

very nice - enjoy in good health. Still keep looking at 550s on a semi regular basis - do not need another 4-seater, therefore the 456 is not required for the time being) I plan to drive the FF until it has oxidized into a little heap of metal flakes (it is amazing how much the parts - mesh, screws on brakes etc) rust...

my thought exactly when I first saw it - dark green (or as a second option dark blue)

Yes, I like 550s too (more powerful version of the same engine), but I wanted a 4 seater - the rear seats are very usable too, it is definitely not a 2+2. I have had 4 adults in it twice. People have been talking about colour on here. It is strange how 550s look good in red, 456s less so.
