Compare these two:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1970-Volkswagen-Westfal...

and have a look at each seller's other items. Every single one is bogus.
All completely legit. He obviously owns/sells a lot of camper vans and because he has so many the photos have to be taken wherever he can do it instead of in the same place. The address is clearly stated 'UK' so he's not hiding that either. Totally trustworthy and not even in the slightest suspicious

Can't believe you are so mistrusting

Another weekend, and this scumbag is back, with identical MO.

4000+ fraudulent listings on a hi-jacked account?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/a1supplies12/m.html?ite...

Update:

The 'real' account had been hi-jacked. The thousands of fraudulent listings are no longer shown (24 August). Seems that eBay eventually acted.

Never mind, there will soon be another batch - scamscum seems to be untouchable.

eBay is fine as long as you follow two simple rules:

1) don’t sell anything you can’t afford to lose unless you meet face to face with the buyer and they hand over cash

2) Don’t buy anything for any amount of money you can’t afford to lose unless you meet face to face with the seller and have the opportunity to inspect what you’re buying.

I have been bitten in the past on the first one (a £300 phone), and have no intention of being bitten on the second.

eBay is a scammer’s paradise. They have free rein, enabled solely by eBay’s completely lackadaisical approach to policing of fraud, and the almost entire lack of consequences for fraudsters.

Another day, another hacked account, eBay seemingly doing nowt once more :

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/petejs11/m.html?item=23...

Edit:

1603H. eBay appear to have sorted this one fairly promptly! Perhaps their attitude to dealing with these frauds is improving!

Nice bump!
If you spot something suspect report it to ebay.
In the past few days yet another successful scam took place, this time over 50k's worth of motorhome.
Somebodies life savings gone.
If you think it's too good to be true please do take the time to report it.
It's only a few seconds, a few clicks, but it could make a huge difference.

It's the east European account hacker at it again. It's difficult to believe that anyone gets scammed as he's so blatant and easy to spot.

The listings from this scamscum are easily identified by the inclusion of this (or similar) image.

And to ensure that some poor sap is not sucked in by this continuing series of fraudulent listings, which eBay seem to be little bothered about.

It could well be public-spirited PH members doing their stuff!

This one appears every couple of weeks. Has done for well over a year. I imagine the actual car was sold by the original owner a very long time ago.

I used to bother reporting them but don't anymore. I've reported stuff and it's taken days for it to be taken down.

It's upto eBay to get their own house in order.
