A small fact lost on the ignorant wink

And I can't think of many 530hp cars that can do 350 miles on one 'tank'....
I suspect you're not looking hard enough, or indeed at all
I said I can't think of many... How many can you think of?
The question is whether it’s more or fewer than the number of EVs available to be bought today wink
No it isn't, this is a car that is being slammed for having 350miles range with 530 bhp...like as if there is a plethora of ICE cars that can do that?

Rumour has it the mileage range will be huge, as the batteries are stored in the grille area.

Ever had to queue to find a pump, queue to pay (or queue to find a pump that has pay at terminal) also as a business user saving the reciept for the fuel.

I think a pump will probably dispense a liter every 4 seconds so filling up a 70L tank is probably around 3 mins + 3 mins queuing for the person in front who wants to pay and shop at the mini market.

Trust me its a ballache chore that i could do without in my life. I can think of much better things to do than go into a petrol station and its not just because I drive an EV I've hated filling up for at least 10 years.
Wind up or first world problems...I cant decide.

I've never really found filling up a ball ache. I use pay at the pump where possible and if I have to queue for a few minutes, it hardly puts a downer on my day!

Conversely, a colleague getting caught out in his EV was a ball ache. On his way back from York the fast charger at a service station as out of order so he had to use a slower charger which resulted in three hours sitting in a service station until he had enough charge to get home. Given what soulless, depressing stholes motorway service stations are, that's a ball ache that I could do without in my life.

My 560hp F10 M5 would do over 350 miles on a tank and my current X3M will also do more than 350 miles although that's only 510ps but of course that's dependant on driving style and certainly not really achievable around town where an EV excels. Although I'd wager the EV won't do 350 miles on a motorway run at 70-80mph, the ideal scenario seems reversed EV vs ICE in terms of best case efficiency and range.
From my experience the economy of an EV is directly related to speed, thats why it's better around town as you are driving slowly.
Yes, that's the point I was making.

I would think my xfr would do around 350 miles to a tank on the motorway.

That’s the real question. If we’re talking about 500bhp cars, what’s the real comparison when they are being used as 500bhp cars and not as hypermiling pensioner transport?

If you’re using them as intended then which one is the clear leader in terms of range and the subsequent ease of refilling? Is it the petrol car or the EV?

Simply no contest, the EV would struggle. They have huge performance potential but can't deploy it for long enough. Even at the low end of the market they struggle outside of urban/ rural environments.

I run 10 with more to come and they suit some applications brilliantly but long distance high speed motoring isn't one of them. Yet.

Doesn't sound too difficult, at least if we are also going by wltp numbers for the ICE boxes. Anything with a ~ 70 litre tank should do it.

Will be interesting to see how BMW position the i4 against the model 3. Base price, options, servicing, leases... Competition is good, glad Tesla is pushing them price/performance wise.

The ipace is slower than both the Project 8 (which holds the lap record for a four door saloon) and the M5 though isn’t it? So should be using less power?
