Hi, can anyone give me some examples of current Costco fuel prices please? I’m trying to work out if it’s worth joining.

Many thanks!

Ours is currently 120.7ppl for unleaded, not sure about diesel but it's also quite competitive.

The local supermarkets are about 123.9, branded stations about 125.9.

Have you checked that your local one sells fuel - mine doesn't.

Just found it on petrol prices ( I didn’t think Costco was on there) seems 1-2p/ litre cheaper.

For 95RON, ours generally seems to be about 5ppl cheaper than the Shell garage down the road and about 2-3ppl cheaper than the supermarkets in the area.

The gap widens significantly for super unleaded. I have no idea about diesel.

Leicester at the weekend:

118.7 UL
122.9 Diesel
124.9 SUL

Cheapest nearby supermarket fuel is 120.9 UL, 124.9 Diesel.

Joining Costco to save money could be interesting, we spent £320 on Saturday and I can't remember ever getting out for less than £150.

Glad it's not just us. I'm sure it's physically impossible to go to Costco and not come out with a three figure receipt. biggrin

We hardly ever buy anything from them these days, I think the last thing was a suitcase some time in September. Might go xmas shopping of course, they do some good deals on books and random bits.

Worth remembering that your account can also get you extra cards - the wife and I only pay for one membership per year.

If it's helpful to know but my local Costco (Coventry) put in for planning permission earlier this year for a filling station. Approval was granted in September but so far no activity on the ground. Quite when groundworks start I don't know.

Premium diesel is £1.24 a litre at mine.
My local BP is £1.45 a litre for Ultimate and £1.32 for regular.

2 tanks on my car covers the annual fee with the savings.

I like Costco for the restaurant and the shopping but the fuel prices are always worth stopping for. I never go their specifically to fill up, but will draw fuel if I'm there. I paid £1.41 per litre for Vpower diesel last night, so a trip to Costco to fill up might be a good idea next time.

Chester is usually 2p less than the nearest Asda.

I happen to pass within a minute of one on my way to and from work so pretty much always top up there. There's a local Shell and Texaco near me and Costco are usually 4p/L cheaper than Shell and 7p/L cheaper than Texaco. I always find that it's a clean station too. Nothing worse than diesel soaked pumps!

Our nearest is cheaper than the supermarkets by 2-3p on petrol and 3-4p on diesel. So a bit but not much really, not worth getting membership unless your doing spaceship mileage.

Good news. Works have started at the Coventry Costco on the new filling station. Driving past on the A45 the other day I noticed a corner of the car park had been fenced off, Portakabins and builders' containers in place, plus a large heap of soil with an excavator perched on top. Could all be complete and ready in March/April ?

It's taken a,little longer than I thought but as of today the filling station is now open. Fuel prices, guaranteed until the 28th May, are 95.7 p/l for regular unleaded, 102.9 p/l for the full fat premium and 99.7 p/l for diesel. It'll be a little while yet before I call in - got to do some more driving to make some room in the tank.
