Probably just me, but not liking that back. The spoiler and the kicked up rear looks strange. I know its just me, because I actually quite like the current generation Cayenne!
Not just you, looks like the Vantage-style rear light design was a last minute addition, doesn't really suit the rest of the design IMO.I don't really understand this modern trend of having an absolutely massive SUV that then has an interior described as "snug". Things like range rovers, thanks to all the 4wd mechanisms and requirement to house massive wheels that articulate a lot are similar a "inverse tardis", with huge outside dimensions but feel like a fiesta in the front........

I think there were more than a few pissed off at Bentley when the Bentagya was revealed .....
All a matter of taste and personal preference. I would take the Bentley over this Ford/Jaguar lash up. I’m surprised they didn’t put a Vantage badge on it as Ford have with the Mustang SUV.A1VDY said:
The front isn't nearly angry and depressing enough to compete with other stuff. Not far off but in this case it's a fail..
When viewed against what it competes against, at the price point it sits at, I've heard very few positive comments about how these look. Of course aesthetics are a very subjective measure, but the competition in this, the most unusual of beauty contests...I'd take this...
As some have already mentioned, that rear lip and diffuser (especially seen side on) looks horrible. I'm sure they'll sell a fair few but no where near enough to save them.
Either compete with the Range Rover/Cayenne buyers (lower price), target the Bentayga/Urus/G63/Ferrari buyers (stand out looks, quality, engine etc) or in my view, go for the Model X/GQC/EV buyers and future-proof yourself.
Like the rest of their line up, I think AML have just got their strategy all wrong and are being out-competed on every car. I'm not being a PH AM hater, I'm just sad to see what used to be my favourite car maker in the 00's going to sh!t.

That's not as bad looking as I was expecting it to be in all honesty, one of the better looking SUV's out there though I prefer the Urus in the looks department, it'll be interesting to see what Lotus put out as well (I still wouldn't buy one, or any SUV, for that matter though).
As has been mentioned though... that backside... the duck bill puts me in mind of this -
Every time I see a pic of a modern Aston (or extremely occasionally in the metal) all I can think of is a mk3 Renault Laguna coupe, a not bad looking car per se but Aston seems to have copied the backside and cranked the design up to eleven. Also no third party sat nav on the dash .

I am sure it’s wicked to drive for a SUV, unfortunately not sold on the rear end from the side profile.
Maybe need to see it in the flesh.
Could this be the end of AM?
Some would like it to be the end of Aston Martin; the irrational dislike of the brand is peculiar at times.Maybe need to see it in the flesh.

Maybe the DBX wont be a massive hit in the UK, and maybe UK buyers will stick to their SVR's, but in overseas markets (China in particular), these luxury SUV's, with a big dollop of show and presence, are low hanging fruit for car makers that offer a product that fits that niche.
Consider this; DBX sells as expected - it funds the home grown V6 engine that'll power future versions of Vantage, Vanquish etc. Aston produces enough money to not have to buy in tech from Mercedes. You then have Aston Martins, designed and built in the UK, where every component where practicable is done in-house. That's something to celebrate, or at least would be.
SUV's for every company other than Land Rover, are a necessity. If they didn't need to offer one, they probably wouldn't. That fact Aston's built one, a really, really strong one, is impressive given the comparative size of the company.

If Aston put a nose more like this in the vantage, and sorted the vantage and DB11 interiors, it would be job done.
+1! As an owner of the ‘old but new’ Vantage, I’ve always felt the new Vantage range is crying out for a paired back, more traditional design. By all means keep the existing design for the hardcore model, ala Porsche GT3, but how many prospective buyers are put off by that huge grille and array of splitters?Re; the DBX, love it! Try the configurator before making a final judgement, as others have pointed out it looks much better in certain colours. Nice to see the return of ‘Silver Birch’ as a Q colour option as well.
As a Bentayga owner (for my sins), I guess I'm the target for this.
I can't say I like it too much; but for me, SUVs are big trucks and trying to make them look (with pinched design language or whatever the artifice said) and feel like sports cars always seems a little silly and ultimately pointless.
My Bentley is too heavy to ever feel like anything but a giant block of metal with monster power. It actually feels unsafe and slightly out of control due to its weight when utilising every horse anywhere other than on the motorway. Even then you are so aware of the momentum surging forward when you bury the pedal that you have to be mindful of its ability to stop again should the situation require.
I reckon this will be a big sales disappointment. How many people are there in reality that want a "sporty" SUV that will actually buy one? Can this really steal sales from the Urus?
Who do Aston use for financing? I ask this as the current lot of 150k+ SUVs are easily financed by VW/Mercedes finance without too many questions being asked. These details can make or break the sales I'd guess.

If I had the money I'd be putting an order in, but unfortunately it's about £148k over my budget
