They won’t be able to make them fast enough, best car in the segment by far, and for all those judging it by pictures, just wait

Meh, it’s got the headlights and grill off a fiesta, and the side profile of a Jag F pace, even the same shape rear window.

Really not keen and I usally like these 4X4s

Why is it, that when a car maker makes a beautiful car like the DB9 or phantom, or continental that making the same car a bit bigger and higher it instantly seems to become ugly?

Doesn’t matter I suppose. People love being high up and will basically buy it what ever it looks like.

Hope it sells well, which I’m sure it will, but will always remain the slight underdog like the rest of the range

Distinctly Aston Martin. Not sure the rear works for me though.

But generally, not a bad first effort.

I think all things considered including the necessity for AM to offer one, they have done well with the design. It is sleek enough to justify the winged badge on its nose but hopefully practical enough and well built enough to offer genuine every day usability to HNW families. I wish them all the very best with it, the employees behind it and the new factory deserve to succeed. It will be in the interest of the Welsh community and wider UK Plc that they do.

Spot on, particularly on the HNW families being the core target, which is the main cause of resentment for these cars from the couple of PH green eyed monsters.

Looks fantastic IMO. Genuinely handsome, very nice side profile.

Much more attractive than most if not all the competition. Way out of my price league but hope it does well for AM, I really want to see this company thriving again. This country should be proud of having such an iconic brand.

As people have mentioned, under the circumstances, and with the limited resources ( compared to the competition ), I think they have done as good a job with this as anyone had a right to expect. People may not like SUV's, for good reasons, but the simple matter is that any manufacturer now needs one in it's line up if it is to survive. This is the reason that Porsche, Lamborghini, Maserati, Bentley, Rolls and soon Ferrari have all gone down this road - it is silly to berate Aston for simply doing what everyone else is.

However, Aston's sports cars are competing against the same other manufacturers at the moment, and, it would appear, are struggling. Whether their SUV can do any better, remains to be seen. It takes a lot of money to successfully develop and launch one of these, and I am not sure that Aston had all the funds they really needed. The company is struggling and it is well known that cash is tight. Time will only tell whether they had to cut corners.....

Not great, not terrible. My imaginary "£150k for an SUV" still goes on an Urus though. I'd hate to see Aston do a TVR, so if this allows them to continue to make sports cars, then I hope they sell loads.

I thought the article was going to be a first with no "Gaydon" - but no resistance is futile. They had to say it at the end......

Looks OK, but the Urus is the least ugly of them all. IMO.

It looks fabulous in the metal (and leather). Having seen both an Onyx Black and Concours Blue cars I think it is a colour sensitive look, with the light blue looking fabulous. And with the great range of colours available then AML deserve to and should do well with the DBX.

It's a good looking thing, like others, not sure about the rear, but if I was in the market for an SUV and Lamborghini had run out of Ursus' then I'd be interested

So how can you say it's the best car in the segment?

It might be the best looking in the segment in your opinion, but that's all you can attest to and that's subjective anyway.

I will reserve judgement until I see one in the flesh, however as a first attempt, I would say a decent job.

Are AM expecting this to be the saviour, like the Cayenne was for Porsche? We are unfortunately in very different times right now.. if they have an EV version of this around the corner, that would be playing to the audience..

Also, sounds pretty heavy, given performance figures, must be all that leather smile

I actually think they've done a pretty good job of the exterior styling.
The underbite diffuser in profile is quite challenging and the little spoiler seems forced but it's not the end of the world.
I'm personally not a fan of the Zorro highlight under the headlight either but each to their own.
Can see it being very, very colour sensitive like the new Vantage.

Pointless entitlement and ego wagons. Waste of materials, energy and effort.

Having said that, they have done a great job. It looks distinctive and the interior appears to be well sorted. For Aston's sake, I hope it sells well, so they can keep on producing everything else.

Automotive dinosaurs.

Looks are quite clearly subjective, because that just looks bland and very generic to me, except for the rear, with is just a mess. It's a shame, because we need AM to succeed, but I don't see this changing anything in that respect. Hope I'm wrong though.

Having been a sceptic when the DBX was first shown in camo, I started to warm to it when I saw the interior shots and now I do like it a lot.

I will consider replacing my Levante with one in a year or so when the DBX is proven reliable.

That looks good to me thumbup

Hope it sells well for them as it does sound like they're on the brink again a little bit.

For Aston's sake I hope they selling bucket loads of these, and for the types who buy this type of car I'm sure it will be very popular.
