Maybe it's my age but car meets overrun with people making their cars backfire appear to be the thing right now and they're as appealing as a ball waxing. Shame, as I quite like the idea of rolling meets and AdamC has done a pretty good job thus far. It'd be a pity to see them getting shut down due to nobbers.
That has been a trend for some time now

You guys should check Cars and Bids. That's Cars and Bids. I don't think Doug has mentioned it.

What car and bids, did i say Car and bids, you know my new site, car and bids...

I liked him but it really feels like a sell out he could have just got sponsorship not set up his own site.

A few people replied to one of my posts a while back to recommend Savage Geese and that's a good shout, interesting stuff and funny style. Thanks - can't remember who you were or find my post!!

I've also got into watching Seen Through Glass with the new Drive the World films (4 summary films of his last year) and I must say the editing and general quality is so so good, seems to be so far above everyone else. I never watched any of the originals so these films are actually really good. Highly recommended.

Different thing altogether surely. He's set something up which doesn't rely on his channel so he can at some stage stop the videos, or at least diversify his income. Obviously he'll use the channel to promote it endlessly in the meantime.

It's a fking st name though.

I agree, I find it absolutely cancerous. The way people sit there bouncing off the rev limiter it sounds absolute rubbish IMO. I may sound like a grumpy old git, however I am only 25!

Genuinely fascinating for me to experience a 6:24 racecar BTG lap after the 6:55 in the GT2 RS MR; such different drives.

Not at all, it was much more comfortable! That's probably the most surprising thing about it all. The GT2 RS MR has sickening amounts of power and braking but it squirms around a lot more. The AMG GT3 felt totally planted and albeit flat through corners that didn't make sense, it resulted in vastly fewer heavy braking zones and felt totally on rails at every point.

Something had to replace the incessant links to his articles on autotrader.com/oversteer

That’s autotrader.com/oversteer.

That looked like an absolutely savage lap! The cornering speeds were staggering especially the Left hander around 8mins (don’t know their names!) were there has been lots of crashes and braking so late almost think he’s forgot there’s a bend! laugh

I guess YouTube need some more moneys

YouTube said:
You're receiving this email because we are making some changes to mid-roll ads that will impact your channel. These changes will make more videos eligible for mid-roll ads to increase your monetisation potential.

Today, only videos longer than 10 minutes are eligible for mid-roll ads. Starting from late July, all videos longer than 8 minutes will be eligible for mid-roll ads. As part of this change, we will turn on mid-roll ads for all eligible videos. This means that videos where you may have opted out of mid-roll ads will now be opted in. Videos that already have mid-roll ads will not be impacted. Future uploads from monetising channels will also have mid-roll ads turned on by default.

Turning on auto mid-roll ads saves creators extra work while helping increase the monetisation potential for new and existing content. We use machine learning to automatically find the most natural breaks in your videos, in order to increase monetisation potential while balancing user experience.
I saw this, I'd be interested to know what the increased ad exposure will be by going from 10 to 8 minutes as the metric for running interstitial ads, but I think it's the "yeah, we're turning them on even if you turned them off" that'll really give them a big boost.

Even if people immediately turn them off, just a short period of them being active across the entire platform is going to give them a huge increase in what they can claim for number of eyeballs on ads, which I bet they really need in order to sell the ad space if everyone is tightening their belts on promotional spending.

WHAT! Have been really enjoying his content lately and was really looking forward to content on MR2 racing.

Worrying that he has deleted everything, must be something pretty big to make that call.

Just hope it wasn't some internet d*ckhead doing/saying something that ruins it for all.

Hope all is ok if you see this dude.

First these guys were pumping Crypto couple years back and now they've moved onto Forex.

Tons of bottom of the the barrel clowns on IG pushing this BS and for whatever reason all them gravitate to the Lambo brand because I've met a few of these clowns at Lambo meets who show up in their short term rentals, Gucci head to toe pushing their BS courses. What I'm shocked about is how many people actually fall for these pyramid schemes.
A fool and his money are easily parted...

That and nowadays lots of people just want a quick easy fix to get money and be able to show off on Instagram. They don’t want to work hard for anything f.
In my opinion IG breeds this type of behaviour, that and severe insecurity in young woman and men. It’s all about self perpetuating materialistic BS.
Agreed. Also if it is not the latest and greatest people either don’t want to know or can ridicule prople for not having the latest thing (car, phone etc)
The built not bought approach, isn't as easy I suppose, and at the risk of upsetting influencers - their skill set probably came from whatever day job afforded them the funds to get into the high end car lifestyle, they wouldn't be expected to know how to dial in a cam, lay some glass or carbon, or fabricate some body panels. The audience is another thing; if an influencer's spending habits are to change cars every 6 months, their long term audience probably enjoy the fresh content and perhaps have no interest in a build series. I'd have liked to have seen more of TGE's 912 restoration, but it seems to be another one that's shuffled off to the side because if it isn't an expensive supercar, it must be rubbish.

The truth is, the oddball, quirky, less expensive stuff is often far more interesting. It's why JayEmm's channel is refreshing - you just don't know what to expect next, and it ventures to each corner of the automotive world, and doesn't discriminate - great cars take many forms.

Back to the built-not-bought thing though; YouTube is a parallel of society in some ways - fewer and fewer young people are starting careers in hands on roles, or have mechanically minded hobbies. It's about making money and obtaining objects these days. It's a shame, because there's a sense of satisfaction and pride in building a car yourself IMO. What we're finding in racing now, is there's a generation of paid drivers who cannot hold a spanner, but can afford to hire a Top Fuel car for the weekend. In 10 or 15 years, there wont be the support mechanism i.e. the people who can build and run the cars, to keep things going. I expect the same to be true in historic racing - it's a sad state of affairs.
