Glad you both enjoyed it! It’s the first of many of that format, hopefully getting most of the big U.K. Youtubers on much like we did with our podcasts.

Surprisingly, disappointingly , TGE’s new AMG GTc looks like absolute trash. He really got rid of the very nice 458 spider for this? This was the story wasn’t it?
How is a Merc GT trash? If someone offered you one would you turn it down because it’s “trash” ? Doubt it

It’s all relative. I’ve had a AMG GTR, I certainly wouldn’t want a GTC , not for what he’s paying. It’s a great deal though. And I guess for him to balance the books it make sense (financially, to ‘lower the monthlies’) to get rid of the 458 spyder for this, that 458 was so nice though.

Nothing down, 700 quid a month for 12 months, and 10k miles.. that's an insane deal!

Wanting yellow limited my choices dramatically. I wound up searching everywhere - Autotrader, PH, eBay and eventually found my car on FB marketplace - complete chance, best used car I have ever bought and from the least likely of places!
Liked the video too Jay. I recently purchased S2K back late summer last year, as my 20 year son was nagging me that it would make a great drivers car. Was a very low mileage early car like yours.. The exhaust on yours has a lovely sound to it, I assume it is not stock? I hope ours will be a keeper..

Its probably not insane if you factor in the unspecified stuff that MB is apparently getting in return. I wonder how HMRC views that (hidden income? i am not an accountant)

'Only' £8,400 for the year. You can bet depreciation will be 5x+ that in that time. I'd bite their arm off too!

It’s a hell of a deal. I can’t see how it stacks up tbh. Someone’s sucking up the depreciation and it’s not a small amount.

There was crazy deals floating around on the new V8 Vantage and the 600LT if you knew who to ask. Everyone was trying to shift stock in Dec.

In my view, the VIP programme is a marketing tool by Mercedes to get as many "faces" in their cars being seen - footballers, influencers, anyone with public exposure. The monthly cost is largely irrelevant as its not available to the general public. It's a sponsorship and the figures no doubt do not stack up other than its a marketing cost that MB are happy to spend. The £699 PCM seems a token gesture, perhaps a mixture of an attempt to seem less disingenuous if the driver heaps praise on the vehicle, and to suggest that viewers might want to enquire about financing a high end MB as they are within grasp - with an effort to sell them another of the MB range that is within £699 PCM or upsell them into an AMG GT.

I'm assuming that TGE and the like can have these lease cars as 'business' leases too?

My car has the "UK exhaust mod" on it - although in truth it doesnt sound anywhere near as fruity in person as in the video - I got the sound recording spot on with that one so it sounded far more vocal than it does IRL

The deals available for any customer that asked were quite frankly absurd but don't bode well for the supercar market 12-24 months from now when all of these GTs, Vantages and 600LTs come back for sale.

Granted we are not "open to the public" on the fleet deals we can obtain, but some of the manufacturer upfront support or retro-rebate payments are huge.

For example, the GTC has a retail price of £138,585
Future value is 81,700 in 12 months at 10k miles

That's £56885 depreciation....

However, if the supplying dealer offers 15% contribution, that's a retail price of £117, 797.
If there is a further 25% rebate from the manufacturer (not an unusual figure), the retail is now down to £88,347

The future value remains at 81700, the deprecation is now "only" £6647 for the year.

Easily covered by the £700 per month payments.

I’m amazed those level of discounts exist on such high value cars. You’re talking 40% off which seems bonkers. We sometimes get 20% off a Renault rofl

It shows how ridiculous the list prices have become though, doesn’t it?
