Are these Vloggers just a scam? SOL or Shmee etc? (Vol. 3)

The disadvantage that you and I can never overcome is that we aren't American. All the videos I shot in the USA massively upped my CPMs towards that top end, but it's already declining again now. I've had a few videos do into 7 figures at over $10 CPM though so it's very possible.
Is that because they were filmed in the US getting the extra views or uploaded there with YouTube promoting them more? If the latter would uploading via a VPN get around it? Purely the psychology of the viewer; watching a video that feels closer to home and more relevant to the viewer means a larger number will share it on Facebook, to their friends, blog about it etc. Because of that you then increase the local audience on that video and in turn the revenue as a US eyeball is worth much more than elsewhere.
To the absolute best of my knowledge, there is no impact from the geographical location of an upload in terms of the file transfer to YouTube, only the perception of the viewer from what you've actually filmed.

Is there a list of the Youtubers on here that are contributing/commenting in this thread? Shmee and Jayemm are obviously easy to work out but I see loads of other folk commenting about their channel but I have no idea who they are or on YT
Not allowed due to self-promo rules.Alex Rebuilds is doing a 720S repair... going to be painful to watch esp from a technical POV.
Current gems from the first 2 videos:
Unable to find the frunk emergency release to get to the battery - just read the manual!!!
Does not appear to own a volt meter or have any comprehension that a battery might be flat.
Tries to turn on the car about 50 times by just mashing random buttons then finds his -ve lead on the battery is pretty much falling off. Reconnects the -ve and then continues to mash buttons saying "is this right?".
Attempts to bridge a pyrotechnic fuse with some sheet metal...
Points at the super high tech McLaren shock and says "I guess fluid or something goes through here".
Car still wont turn on, says lets just leave this for now and moves on.
Then asks viewers if they have any parts which he can have.
Its going to be funny and I suspect a lot of the other youtube rebuilders are going to be watching to see how he gets on as I don't think anyone has done a McLaren this badly damaged before.

Anyone listened to the Mr JWW podcast with Matt Farrah? Bit of a car crash in my opinion.
Even Matt was confused by JWW's explanation of how he funded supercars (it's one thing to swerve questions on money, quite another to come up with a story with that many holes).
They then move on to the whole journalist/paid influencer point, at which point JWW seemed to make the answers up as he went along openly contradicting what he had just said.
I was just left baffled how someone with such a lack of clarity has become so successful.
When Farah starts probing about how he managed to buy the Speciale, JWW skips over the fact at the time he also owned an F12, R8 V10 and a Range Rover! He certainly found himself a very well paid 9 - 5... Yes, seemingly very well paid 9-5 job in the textile industry that allows financing a 458 Speciale (though he did say he didn't have a house at the time). He mentioned that his uncle is into cars and has a business restoring classic Astons. Sounded like there was probably some familial wealth/backing rather than a rags to riches type situation (though I may be wrong).

Last month my Channel 32k subscribers had a huge surge of views from India overnight (16k extra views in one day).
I have tried googling my channel to see if it was featured etc, checked FB and Twitter etc to no avail, I have no idea what caused it?
Almost certainly due to being embedded on an Indian website of some description. It's very hard to work these things out until you've got the traffic source analytics in a day or two. Yes, his dad started and developed a successful clothing / textiles business. Yeah, what I was wondering. - Analytics do not provide the actual URL of the source however Shmee said:

I'm only doing around $3 / 1k views, $10 would be lovely. I guess I need to grow more!
The disadvantage that you and I can never overcome is that we aren't American. All the videos I shot in the USA massively upped my CPMs towards that top end, but it's already declining again now. I've had a few videos do into 7 figures at over $10 CPM though so it's very possible. It is interesting how Youtube has been able to stay in control of the algorithm and indeed keep it so secret (No doubt by constantly changing it so any leak is outdated by the time it gets known). I wonder if long term lawsuits might end up getting filed by the larger channels or various corporates to lock down the algorithm to make it more predictable from a revenue perspective.
It must be tough for a business of any kind to not know if they are making $3k or $10k from a video and have no control over how they hit the higher figure. I can't think of many comparable industries / models that would allow that level of changeability and secrecy.

Even at nearly 100k subs and my more recent videos easily averaging over 100k views each, if I had to make my living from youtube I'd be out of a home. I have only respect for the likes of Tim, Sam, Paul etc who do!
I guess one disadvantage I have is that I can't take brand deals which I know can be over a 50% of bigger youtubers income.
