I now realise why everybody loves Range Rovers

Watch the clip I posted and have a scan through the comments. The Great British public's stance on RRs is clear, and I have no reason to doubt their wisdom.
Whether you like it or not, your purchase of an RR is - at the very least - a tacit endorsement of such behaviour.
As others have said, taking the great British public’s opinion, especially those that jump online to comment on YouTube videos, is something I would do with a large pinch of salt. Whether you like it or not, your purchase of an RR is - at the very least - a tacit endorsement of such behaviour.
Tacit endorsement. Is that similar to how my purchasing of bleach is a tacit endorsement of those that squirt it in people’s faces? Or how my purchase of a Toyota is a tacit endorsement of the abusive/exploitative (of women) nature of some Japanese establishments catering to a certain sector of their businessmen?
Or is your tacit endorsement theory just complete nonsense?
BTW. I don’t own a Range Rover. Just happen to think they are nice motors with a distinctive character and have no axe to grind against those that own them.

You really haven’t driven one have you? Certainly not one under ten years old. My Derv (V8) RR is the smoothest, quietest, most relaxed car I’ve ever owned.
If all your other vehicles are made by John Deere, perhaps.Rathbone said:

Yes but then he was also going on that he had a small dog also which just becomes baffling unless this is a weird cat fight situation that we’ve all inadvertently become witness to?
Man makes weird reference to men with small dogs being gay and then talks about how his small dog was only just spared the murderous intents of one of those awful woman type things.

If the dog is anything like its owner I would guess Crockapoo.
No, but cockapoos make for great family dogs and they're ubiquitous in this part of London at least. An owner I know drives an X5. Whereas the Evoque driver across the street has a (male) teacup poodle thing called Coco. That's Range Rover branding in action, right there.
Totally unnecessary dog photo:
I own an RRS and I am yet to fit into any of Sir Rathbone-Trumpet's sweeping and somewhat predictable generalisations. With that in mind I find his musings amusing and am not in the least bit offended. Sadly, I drive a battered Lexus RX330 for work purposes, that really is a horrible thing.

What’s your third contribution going to be, make it count, you’re beginning to look like a bitter man who’s wife I banged.
How could you have it in for someone on a public forum, I’m not even in the politics threads where it all kicks off!
I am not bitter at all (there is nothing to be bitter about?) and I don't have it in for you, I actually really rather enjoy your posts though I still think your account is just a joke and you're trolling us, similar to Happy Jap (I think that was his username) a few years ago. Come on, who would turn down the use of a nice Range Rover for a few days....
Exactly. Very few would genuinely turn it down in reality, even those who claim to hate RRs or SUVs. Of SUVs in that price bracket, the RRS isn't the one I'd ever personally sink my money into but I'd still love to take one for a week or so and I'm sure I'd enjoy my time in it even if it isn't quite as good as some of its rivals.

I went to have a look around one local to me a few months ago on behalf of a mate, to save him the 100 mile round trip when I could walk 5 minutes up the road. Was a 2005-ish supercharged 4.2 V8. And it was under £6k. And it was awesome.
but did he buy it?ffhard said:

Indeed. Thanks to Brexit it is all too clear that 48% of the British public are idiots and 52% of the British public are also idiots. I guess we just didn’t appreciate that there were two types of idiot and how evenly matched they were.
best Brexit comment I have read!TREMAiNE said:

I love these threads.
Usually the predictable for and against comments, the stereotypes thrown in, the “I would rather st in my own hands and clap then own on” and then DA with his usual wit.
Having driven a brand new 4.4 SDV8 Vogue Se model at a Land Rover experience centre. 456 miles on the clock and first group to take it round the course.
It was lovely, fast enough, extremely comfortable and had that air of being special that many cars don’t have. Having the onboard computer tell me I was doing 34 degrees side slope was amusing.
Would I own one? In a heartbeat.
Happy with my Disco 3 though, it’s got many of the RR plus points without the image problem.
Not as special inside but still a very nice car.
Expensive to keep in top form though and it’s spat the dummy twice this year when it shouldn’t have but ah well.

For example you mentioned that in the past you wanted an E46 M3 but now you prefer to have a car that is less than three years old and you used to be that guy who likes N/A and manual but now your priorities are 35+ mpg, apple car play, 200 bhp (minimum) and a decent sound system and you like to avoid things like MOT's and faults. You also said that given the opportunity to drive something new and automatic most of PH would make the same choice you have which simply isn't true.
Leasing a car is fine but it isn't some sort of revelation, we can all do it but some of us choose to run older cars because our priorities are not the same as yours and the things that bother you about cars that are older than 3 years either simply don't bother us or we are willing to accept them because the car gives us something that isn't on offer anymore from a new vehicle.
