That's a prerequisite for RR ownership according to PH. Do you have a dog though? wink

I went to have a look around one local to me a few months ago on behalf of a mate, to save him the 100 mile round trip when I could walk 5 minutes up the road. Was a 2005-ish supercharged 4.2 V8. And it was under £6k. And it was awesome.
but did he buy it?
He did indeed, and loves it. No faults yet

I don't think I've seen a RR driver who isn't either orange (female) or red (male) in the face at all times. Seriously. Angry, angry souls:

We Lexus owners on the other hand? It's like driving a Shinto temple by comparison, so no wonder we're so serene.
I can't speak for other fans on here (especially the Range Rover Skort mob... wink ) but I've owned two Range Rovers and the only reason I'm not in a third at the moment is because I'm still saving for the right one and the oil well it will need (I don't do diseasel).

I, however, am not orange or red in the face and, in fact, I would say that I used to drive better in an RR - it wasn't fast or sporty so I saw no point in trying to thrash past people or perform idiotic overtaking manoeuvres, so I used to just waft along enjoying it, let people in when they cut me up and just generally let the world outside get on with its rushing around and driving like inconsiderate arses. In contrast, I currently have a Mondeo with 3 litres under the bonnet that is pleasingly rapid and I drive it like a complete tit half the time (hence why I've both been pulled over by plod and told off, and been on a Driver Awareness course in the last six weeks!)

As to Lexii, Mrs. D.R. considered one for her company car a few years back. I didn't like the blatantly Toyota switchgear and she didn't like the letterbox that they were trying to pass off as a rear window. Other than that it was quite nice and drove in a pleasantly unremarkable manner. As far as I can remember...

Secondly, I've been driving for 25 years, at between 15k and 25k miles a year, and this happened to me once. I wouldn't call that unlucky; I'd call that fairly normal, if anything I've been pretty lucky given the type of roads I drive on.

Once in 25 years of driving isn't really 'ludicrously common' though?

I meant in terms of a probability of it occurring to some degree if you do have an accident, i.e. common amongst the driving population. What proportion of people do you think are 100% honest on an accident claim form?

I see a one off cost of £100 to £200 as an extremely cheap add-on to car insurance, which can cost £400+ every year. Gap insurance, for example, is often several hundreds of pounds a year. What a dashcam buys you is a vastly reduced risk of being left out of pocket through no fault of your own.

Maybe I'm unusually altruistic, but I felt my dashcam was worth it alone to get the claim sorted for that poor guy that was hit by the lorry trailer. The lorry hit a tree and the trailer collapsed over this guy's new van - my video meant the whole thing was sorted for him super quick.

People are using cameras on their houses now too - I've heard of a number of cases recently where a conviction was possible following a break-in due to a camera being present.

Much to my annoyance my wife picks up the hound to put her in the crate when she’s more than capable of jumping up herself (dog not wife). Drives me nuts!

There's mostly two types pf people with dash cams. Those who have had an accident and wrongly got the blame (or a road rage attack), I can understand this desire to have a dash cam. The others are really bad drivers, who I used to think were deliberately trying to cause confrontation but now believe are just stupendously bad at driving and so lacking in self-awareness that they think the problem is everyone else. I don't like the 2nd bunch.
There are the others who post very long and boring videos of barely anything indiscretions on You Tube but I don't consider them as people so they aren't a 3rd type.
