Absolute boll*cks, with those delicate alloys, expensive body kit and low profile tyres you'd easily damage it if you ran over so much as a pebble. And how would you explain that to your lease company?

Talk about Ugly Duckling...Swan

The old one was a poor design and proportions were all wrong. This new one looks fantastic, possibly the best of Audi's new design language, much better looking than the Q8 RS

There's no point buying a SUV if you're just going to drive it on the road.

Exactly. I'm at odds to think why people want an extra foot or so height in the middle just so they can seemingly enjoy 'sitting up high'. Its not like you're gaining much interior space.

Odd so many people want these silly cars.
Why is this silly over whatever it is that you have?

Wouldnt it be more silly to have say a little 2 seater with hardly any boot space?

Or silly to have a coupe that you cant fit an adult in the back?

Or a saloon car with a huge V8, its not a sports car so whats the point?

Or an estate car because no one needs all that space?

Or a hatch back, because you could have something else?

Or, is it silly to moan about a style of car because you like something else?

Sis had the original RSQ3 and it was the engine that made it.

Trading the car in was a bit of an eye-opener. None of the Audi dealerships were interested in it and gave stupidly low trade-in prices.

"If it had only been the RS3 hatch" were the replies.

Sold it to a specialist.

How so? The majority are designed to be used as road cars. Family-friendly, everyday road cars with all-weather traction and ground clearance that lends them an extra degree of versatility over something more traditional like an estate. They're not supposed to be all-terrain mountain climbers any more than a performance car is supposed to be a race car. Is an M2 Competition pointless because it's not going to spend its entire life on a track?

People buy things they like because they can.

I really want to hate these things but after borrowing my dads SQ5 a few times (the older tdi one) I really can't.

Stupidly fast and feels very much like a big car rather than a 4x4. Spec can be a bit weird on the S/RS cars but it was always a surprisingly enjoyable drive.

LOL at the irony of the person who made a sweeping generalisation and then resorted to profanity accusing the other party of having to "wipe the spittle from you mouth" just because he dissected your position by asking a reasonable question.

A strange nuance of piston heads is that the majority seem to love this car but if you talk about a Urus or an SVR or the DBX the same concept of car suddenly becomes obnoxious and people hate on it.

Personally I dislike big weights. This is still faily OK. And with rally mudflaps and some smaller rims, probably quite a hoot on an unpaved road, just need to add a hydraulic handbrake...

Have a word.

The really funny thing is after reading this I did look at his profile to see what car he has, couldnt see it on there anywhere, so im still not sure why he got quite so upset.

I dont even particularly like SUVs ha ha
