Yep, last few years it’s become incredibly common.
I think that’s right, but possibly more down to users having no need to be somewhere more covert. I suspect the amount of use hasn’t increased as much but rather that users have come out of the shadows as much as anything.

At the same time, I suspect the number of car users under the influence of cannabis pales into insignificance in comparison to the number of morning drivers still over the alcohol limit from the night before, the number of drivers on anti depressants and the number of penionersbon medication which effects their cognitive ability.

Legal alcohol and prescription medication, Inwould have thought, are the real hazards.

Notice it loads riding a motorbike through London. The people who do it dont even try and hide the fact either - WTAF is going on.

At 5.30am last week I was sat at a red light and watched the other lights change to red. Our lights turned green and as I was moving off a white van came charging through the red light from the right and then turned right so I was now behind it. He then proceeded to drive under the 20mph speed limit until the next set of lights were i pulled up next to him to see and smell a huge spliff on the go. What sort of job does this bloke do to need "stress relief" at 5.30 in the friggin morning !!! A danger to all around. There is never any cop cars to wave at either which is a shame. Easy nicking

Yes quite commonly when I used to live in East London, even first thing in the morning during my commutes out on the A13.
Yes I commuted along the A13 and as you filter through it stinks.

Hmmm... If you can smell that much cannabis whilst driving a car with the windows up, you should stop smoking it.

I've noticed the smell when filtering through stopped cars in town during the commute home on my bike.
I notice it every day when I bike in to the square mile.

I’m at my desk for 7, and can’t imagine who’d want to be smoking a joint at 06:30 while sitting in a traffic jam.

The facebook feeds from several police forces very often report the people that have been stopped and tested for drugs . The numbers are pretty alarming. Once you have been caught you go on the hit list and will be stopped more frequently .
The same way smokers don't notice the smell I think cannabis users don't realise the stink that surrounds them when they are using the stuff .
Mind you the cost of the real stuff is cheaper than the oil that I use for my osteoarthritis.

... Or if over the prescribed limit a ban of at least 1 year and a criminal record.
That means getting the bus ...
Plus a drugs marker on the PNC ...
And maybe lose your job ...
And massively increased insurance premiums when you get your licence back ...
And ... Blah, blah ... You get the idea.

I am not trying to be the fun police. However, if you believe that driving while smoking weed should be acceptable because it's just a bit of fun then I think you need a bit of education.

Unrelated to the fun police bit; I had a thought that stopping some of these cars might help the police with their county lines work, especially the ones on the motorway heading out of big cities late at night. It's a massive distribution network and it would not surprise me if those involved thought it was absolutely normal to smoke weed and drive.

This is the only reason I would be against the legalisation of cannabis. It this sense it’s one of the most anti-social drugs.

If you live in a flat and your neighbour likes to do cocaine on a weekend you’re oblivious. If your neighbour smokes you know about it.

Last summer I was at an outdoor picnic thing with loads of kids and families. Someone else not with the group was smoking and it stank. Plenty of children asking about the smell and it’s so pungent.

I’ve got no problem with anyone taking whatever drugs they want, but cannabis in a public place or a shared building is very anti-social behaviour in my book.

Seems to be almost constant in London and especially with vans/work vehicles.

I don't really give a damn about what people do but driving under the influence of any drug should be hit really hard. As someone mentioned, not enough police around to deal with this.

The other thing I don't get is how people can do this at 08:00 in the morning...

Just because its morning for you doesn't mean it is for everybody, I work 1900-0700 so 0800 is evening for me haha.

Had this discussion the other week on a local facebook group people kicking off about a corner shop asking for a licence to sell alcohol early in the morning "why would anybody want alcohol at 0700" was the remark.

I don't drink after nights and I don't smoke the stuff in question at all.

the old shape Nissan Micra used to smell of weed. It's actually hemp as that is what the parcel shelf is made of.
My Twingo is similarly affected.
