Helix clutches are much better on this platform!
Many are going for RTS as it has oem pedal feel... I'm fine with my Sachs...
RTS is rubbish.
It has OEM pedal feel because it uses OEM pressure plate.
It's a half way step, it's not a proper performance clutch , not in the same boat as Sachs or Helix.

The rubbish part, you speak of experience?
At least in theory you can go with higher friction material on a oem pressure plate, not sure what it does to the flywheel long term...
I indeed put my trust towards a higher clamping pressure and a oem grade organic friction material by an OEM manufacturer whose torque rating is based on OEM standards...

When I was looking for a Cupra Estate, the only manual one I could find was 200 miles away and in this colour combination

Speaking from experience they are very good cars. Bargain as well. For me the estate is the pick of the bunch, nothing comes close. Except for a Golf R of course, but I genuinely prefer the looks of the Cupra!

I quite like the DSG gearbox. Having tried quite a few automatic boxes, I think it's the most useful for "progressive driving".

The one in the article looks to have a panoramic sunroof and climate control. 2 options that seem to defeat the whole purpose of the sub 8 pack.

Although if I remember correctly you could option the standard car with an orange styling pack so maybe it's not a sub 8.

I had a 5dr DSG 290 black edition for 2 years. While it was a good car it wasn't remarkable at anything. I went DSG as I'd had a manual golf R before it so knew about the chocolate manual clutch. 4wd also suited the engine and power delivery better. The Cupra suffered from the most horrendous wheel hop.

I would not recommend anyone buy an RTS clutch.

Sure, it's a lighter pedal than a Helix or Sachs but that's because it cannot take as much clamping force.

No big power car uses RTS. They all use Helix or Sachs.

True. It's one of those cars where a few aftermarket parts are a must have... but the cars isn't expensive to start with so not too much of a financial effort. Type R and i30N are better sorted from the factory.
