I like to think I'm pretty savvy at spotting scams, but this one had me fooled for a good while. The fake forums / posts were very convincing, as was the way they went back several years to build what looked like a pretty long term history of satisfied clients. Very cleverly (and intricately) done.
Sorry OP. If it's any consolation, I don't think you'd be the only one to fall for it in the same circumstances. Best of luck getting a resolution.

I've been caught up in the same scam with SellPak, thought I'd done some due diligence on the company, had a email correspondence and phone call with the apparent seller. Quite an elaborate scam. So my mission will be to at least close their website and forums down.
In the process of reporting to Action fraud. What measures have you taken?

I've just googled SellPak, it's an incredibly sophisticated scam, with a number of fake forums, post purporting to be from a few years back.. No idea where they're lsiting their cars, but I don't doubt they are raking in money in the thousands..
O/T but a frustrating response from Nominet - it's a non-profit organisation, but these days solely dedicated to lining the pockets of its executive team..

Yet when i google it nothing appears ...
The links to the forums are laughable, the English is absolutely terrible, you'd have to be thick as s*** to send these people any money, seriously, they suggest they are a partnered with eBay / Gumtree / Craigslist / Pistonheads ... no they are not.
Secondly they offer to contact the seller on your behalf, so you send your money to them and they pass it on for free?
A fool and their money ...

In my case I contacted the seller from eBay (went to a gmail address) who then gave some a narrative about inheriting the vehicle following death of brother, he apparently had moved to Zurich RHD not of much use, sent me additional photos, VRN came back as vehicle described, slightly lower price than you would anticipate but certainly not way below going price. Also sent telephone number (Swiss mobile) which I contacted him on
