Don’t know about offensive but certainly cheesier than a Waitrose deli counter.

Other than that a great read & very interesting.

I guess he had some concrete people in mind. Otherwise it would not make a lot of sense.

Great guys.
I’ve dealt with James for a while now and he’s proper knowledgable and really down to earth.
My 250 goes to them this Thursday for a tune up and race preparations. Couldn’t be with better people.

""It gets me down when we advertise a fantastic example of a car that's unmolested and that hasn't been crashed, repainted, or retrimmed, it's a true time-warp example, and all the keyboard warriors can do is say 'it's such a shame that someone hasn't driven it.' Maybe the owner was disabled, maybe he was having to work abroad, maybe he was working in Africa for charities, you just don't know the story." Well played James.

You managed to troll those keyboard warriors superbly in the interview and they reacted just like you wanted.

I am thinking you going to DK is as financially dangerous as a trip to a strip club on a stag do hehe

Whatever you think of the sales pitch, I will say that that was a wonderful excuse to look at some interesting metal.

I do feel like a child again.

Thank you.

What a fantastic place, and a very well written and photographed piece.

Always look forward to the PH Meets articles, and this one as usual didn't disappoint. bow

Interesting read. Should maybe check the reflection when blurring the plate on the F1 pic

Exactly!

Calm down snowflakes, I think he was using two examples of his actual customers to back up his point of view

I have visions of you stood in the reception of their showroom pointing at each one shouting 'ill take that one, and that one, and that one' hehe

I’ve nothing but the utmost respect for James and DK. First bumped into him three years ago at a Goodwood members meeting and he chatted to me, unfazed by how little cash (or crap a car) I had and seemed genuinely interested in discussing what he was racing with me, an enthusiast. Met him subsequently and he remembered who I was - twelve months later.

When I bought my first Ferrari, I had it checked over by them: I wouldn’t have gone anywhere else. I got a full inspection done by DK’s workshop and then independently (and unexpectedly) James gave me a personal run-down on the car.

Above and beyond the call of duty. Can’t recommend them highly enough.

Those that need DK’s services know they are top tier. Those that have no need will try and poke fun.

Haha I am on a buying spree at the moment but no I’m not going down to see them, they’re coming to pick up the 250 and get it prepped ready for Goodwood next year.

Thanks Pommy. They are taking out the old roll cage and putting in a newer more up to date FIA regulation one, putting in a newer refurbished 250 GTO gearbox, changing the 6 carbs for newer refurbished double headed ‘trumpet’ carbs (still Weber’s though), new brakes and suspension. Moving the battery cut off switch from the front wing to the inside, repainting the car and hand painting me some of those beautiful Scuderia shields on the wings like I’m speccing on my 812GTS. After that it’ll just be a general tune and tart up.
