3:20 What on Earth is Barry playing at? He looks to be both braking and moving to the left to create as much space as possible and reduce the danger of the pickup's terrible overtake becoming a terrible accident. Fortunately, Robert is along in the next clip to show how it should be done, accident avoided despite best efforts this time but I'm sure you'll get one soon champ.
@5:29 Tigtebb - what a complete moron!

I'm not sure about that - part of me thinks he's just one of those slow-thinking types. He waits for a decent-sized gap to open up in the other lane then starts to move left, then reacts like molasses again twice... Or does he? Hard to tell without audio to give it away.

Evel the biker looks like he rides like an absolute lunatic in the following clips, way too fast

Looked like deliberate blocking to me but I could be wrong. He stayed in L2 even after AudiKnob had passed him on the left.

I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, but checked reg and my likings confirmed. A BMW driver, explains a lot.

5.28. The DCW was more than playing his part there.
Yep, deliberately obstructive.

This is in the local news this morning. The comments on Facebook aren’t in favour of the DCW at all.

I think the van was doing a stupid manoeuvre, as frustrating as it would be being in that queue, not sure you can just drive on the wrong side of the road the whole way, but the DCW had room to just let them get by, no point blocking him.
Everyone In York knows the queues at the tip are ridiculous lately, both vehicles could have gone an alternative route that would save time.

No sympathy for DCW he drives in the right turn lane and over the chevrons to beat the queue probably worse than the van because if someone was turning right out of that road he would have been fked.

Are people really that desperate to go to the tip fk queueing in that it's no surprise so many fly tip but then I suppose some are just out for the day to get out the house.

Both did exactly the same thing - overtaking the queue in the wrong lane. This is understandable in the circumstances and works as long people are gracious and accommodating, although turning around and finding a different route might have been preferable.

So he drives down a turn right lane, over broken lines to beat the queu and moans at the van driver, good one.

That's a straight piece of road coming up to a junction. Texting would be my guess

Why report that the landlord is left with a £30K bill though, haven't they heard of insurance.

That being said, It's the driver I feel worse for. If he's injured he'll end up in the QA hospital.

Yep, quite the hypocrite I thought.

I went to the tip myself yesterday, but went to York’s other tip that most people don’t know exists, there was barely a queue.

I suspect quite a few of these DCWs have gleefully sent their accident footage in to their insurers (of course, only after declaring loudly to the other party that "it's all on CAMMMRRUUUHHH"), and then had a bit of a shock when they were deemed to have been part of the cause.

The evidence that having a dashcam changes the behaviour of some drivers for the worse, and actually shortens the odds of a prang, is overwhelming in many of these clips.

Your fears are unfounded.

The linked Sun article said:
Following initial treatment at the scene, he was then taken to the major trauma centre at University Hospital Southampton.
Which would make sense as they're pretty good at sticking bones and whatnot back together.

Not perfect driving by any means but looks as though that queue for the tip is problematic as a whole. Thing is that misdemeanour wasn't the cause of the problem. I was half expecting to see the other car appear as he pulled back to the left but he was some way along.

The van driver is clearly a bit of a nob though, sitting on the road side of the road and getting straight out to kick off. Needs a good slap! haha

I think it’s a simple case of when two knobs meet.

The tip is causing an issue at the moment, it often has these busy days but it’s been every day for about 3 weeks. There can’t be anybody left it York with any clutter to go to the tip now!
It’s too small and in a busy area so does cause issues.

There’s another one just outside the city which is much quieter, but don’t tell anyone wink

Often seems to be the way in many of these dash cam clips. It's becoming rarer to see a clip of someone doing something genuinely shocking. More likely someone making a fuss of a genuine mistake (we're human they happen) or looking to highlight people's mistakes or engineering situations and being the victim.

The only thing surprising with that van driver is the speed and willingness to jump out of the car and kick off. As sanctimonious as the dashcammer is that van driver appears to be a very angry little man haha

To give the DCW their dues, when the van came at them, he was driving perfectly reasonably and under no obligation to move to let the van past.
Van driver was rather keen to jump out, I wonder what hand signals the DCW was using ?

I agree with regards to no obligation to move over, however doing so would have meant that that event wouldn't have even occurred.
Discretion is always handy in such environments.

Definitely an element of creating a problem for the camera, in my view, especially when they've just done a similar manoeuvre.
