As they say the motorway was empty. There was zero need to be in the middle lane. If they didn't cause an issue then a word would be suffice. Far worse happens every day and gets ignored.
You do know that's how she'll drive every day regardless of traffic or conditions , one of those that pulls straight into the middle lane from the slip road and stays there at 60mph until she reaches her exit

I wish the police would stop more of them
People do it as they think it's the right thing to do as so many others automatically do it too.

As I said I think stopping and educating her would be enough in the circumstances shown.

Is this pass too close?

The cyclist certainly thinks so.

His YouTube channel has a certain theme.

I agree, if you compare it to the Mini after you get a better idea how close it was.

It's not that close but due to the weather conditions we've been having over the past couple of days and the fact there was no reason for the van not to give the same amount of room the other two cars gave it's poor driving.

With 4WD drivers thinking that they can somehow defy physics.

Like the ones educated about using mobile phones while driving , points and a fine wakes them up, a chat makes them think they got away with it.

The law is far too soft when it comes to motoring offences , speed is the easiest to prosecute so that's what they spend the money on , drive like a tt at 60mph in lane 2 while texting and no camera in the uk will catch you.

Crikey, good thinking by those guys getting her out.

Yep congrats to him. On a slightly separate point there is a car that early on when the car was in flames and the accident had obviously just happened passed on the hard shoulder and just kept driving.

I would find that person and strip them on their citizenship (if that were possible). What sort of arse do you have to be to just keep driving when you know someone could still be in that car. How does that person sleep at night?

Maybe they did that for the best.
Could be frail, older people that could offer no help to the situation and would become a hazard themselves.
Or they panicked and just drove off, which would probably be for the best, as it wouldn't help the situation and make it worse for others.

Maybe, but by not stopping they have no way of knowing if they can help in any way. Even stopping and dialling 999 from somewhere safe where you can describe what is happening and work out an accurate location. Most of the EU has laws that compel people to stop and help anyone in danger, if they can. I used to proudly say we didn't need laws like that here, that time has passed.
