In case anyone doesn't want to see it via the Sun, I gather what happened was that driver A was approaching a T-junction with driver B on the main road.

Driver B flashed to let driver B out (not good, but common) and driver A got upset about this, but then saw that driver B was a traffic warden which upset him even more.

“He looked at the emblem on Mr Smith’s shirt and said “yeah you lot, you’re sneaky”.
“The defendant repeated that Mr Smith was vermin, and vultures who follow and track people."

They both left their cars, had a small "tiffle" after which driver A got back in his car.
Thinking it was over with, driver B started to walk back to his car, meanwhile driver A had reversed into a junction before putting it in first gear and flooring it towards driver B, still on foot. He hit the bonnet and got bounced over a metal fence into someone's hedge, and was then unable to move. Driver A, not content with leaving it at that, got out of his car and started trying to punch the guy.

He then apparently assaulted a police officer too.

Arthur McGhie admits attempting to cause Mr Smith grievous bodily harm with intent, dangerous driving and assaulting occasioning actual bodily harm on a police constable.
He denies attempted murder and assaulting police.
The trial continues.

Dont forget the "with intent" part of the charge, where the maximum sentence is increased from 5 years for GBH to life for GBH with intent.

Trouble is they didnt really 'merge in turn'.
Everyone should have held station with the people alongside them until they get to the merge point.
Ok some people merge earlier but that's no reason to pass them all and push in at the front - thats not really 'in turn'.
Whats the point of saying 'merge in turn' when hardly anyone knows what it means?

At least he's not a Copper digging himself into a bigger hole.

The Copper just created a hazard when the driver he stopped had done nothing wrong.

So he created a needless hazard to make an arse of himself.

the police car actually merged directly behind the merging lorry did he not? That's not in turn. He should have merged behind the car the lorry merged in front of.

I’d say unlikely, as police car activated lights before Tesla had gone ahead. Police officer may have thought the HGV was merging at the merge point, so did likewise. Then was annoyed when he saw he’d done so too early, and then seeing a Tesla of all things move ahead.

All guesswork but that seems the more likely scenario to me.
