Didn't Rowan Atkinson say Rolls made a V16 for one of the Jonny English films he was in?
Not quite. He said Rolls Royce had made a V16 that they intended to put in the Phantom, but at the last minute decided to use BMW’s V12. They built a handful of V16 and he managed to persuade Rolls Royce to put one in one of the film cars.
Which is a shame, as the V16 is even smoother apparently (being 4 pots each of 4 strokes at the same time).

Cadillac also built one for their mooted mega car, inventively named the "Sixteen". A car with a humidor sounds rather good.

For those who've never heard a V16 , listen to this BRM on the track https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZMPDCNyQxE
I’m not one for fawning over the variants of different engine configs and the ‘best’ but that does sound rather brutal and something else !
Heard it a few years ago up close - its an unbelievable noise biggrin (yet only 1.5 litre)
I think my Dad has a 7" single of the GP car going round a circuit back when they were trying to raise funds to keep the team going, he still remembers dropping some change into a bucket to help the cause.

BMW made a 6.7L V16 for the E32 7-series- the 767i "Goldfisch"- but it never went into series production. It also didn't quite fit in the engine bay, so the radiators had to be moved to the back of the car.

Really?! That is madness and a shame they couldn't get it signed off.

Ah yes, that was it, thank you!

I wonder if it still exists.

The engine didn't exactly fit, but still very interesting. Would love to have a test drive in one.

Even better sounding is the 3 litre H16 BRM as used in the Lotus 43..
