I can see the first Vlogger in low earth orbit when one gets hold of one of these and it goes wrong.

Its sort of cool but good god, a 600 plus hp mid size, not that expensive in the scheme of things SUV, five grand down and £600 a month, £300 to a bloke with a laptop to map it as it is inevitable that tuning maps for the S58 engine will end up in the wild.
.
Shall I be the first to say it's not recomended to remap a car wyou don't own... You could end up with some very expenseive bills
Unless you go for the Schnitzer performance ECU which BMW garages will fit for you and comes with a double warranty wink

Vloggers...they don’t need high CofG monsters to come unstuck. A ‘well-known’ Mercedes vlogger tw@tted a borrowed SLS AMG on a bumpy corner near me. We saw him hurriedly ripping off the cameras, presumably before the traffic boys arrived.

Pointless for me, it weighs 2 tons, if you want that sort of performance buy an M3, M4 or M5.....X3, X5 should be ferrying bods around with a 3.0 Diesel at its heart....

Had the M3 and the M5 now got an X3M it's good to try different things, there is no should get this or that about it.

It's bad enough in the lanes around Cornwall as it is, with ridiculously big SUV type things. I guess they're very 'on trend' right now but vehicle size is just getting silly. I wonder what new discs and pads will cost after a few months of hauling this back from motorway speeds?
So do you think that big cars like suvs and estates should be banned?

Similar from me, had an M4 (no kids), M3 [F80] (1 kid), now got 2 kids so wanted something a bit bigger. M5 was top of the list, but out of my price range, this fits the bill nicely and has a balance between ferrying kids and stuff and allows me to have a decent bit of fun afterwards.

Life's too short for the diesel version, even if it's the more 'practical' choice smile

Ignoring the moral debate about uber-SUV's, very difficult to deny the standard car is anything but fking rapid. Dread to think what this will be capable of - sub 3s 0-60?
Doubt that 0-60 as the M5C is about that.

Needs to be fast so no one can see you drive it

Pig on a stick to my eyes, too much glass high up,

that look works on a 1980’s 6 series or Range Rover, but not on this car

Im trying to think where I have seen that clip before? Ive seen it on PH and it was on just about every powerful SUV thread, I think it was posted by a member who doesn't like powerful SUVs, can't quite remember his name though.

Doubt it all you like they're not making it up, they took a car and as professional car journos figured it and that's what it did on that day, they figured a M5C at 3.0 seconds using the same format (1 foot roll out to 60mph)

I'm doubting the chap saying less than 3s to 60 for souped up one? M5C is lighter with more power and a lot more torque.

Sure it might be a bit silly but who cares? Just because you have two kids and a dog shouldn't mean you cant have a laugh once in a while. I have ridden in a few big power SUV's and there is something comical and pleasing about such a huge mass being hurtled down the road so quickly.
