Pretty much everything was always going to remained aligned. The only two significant changes are that we will source more immigrants from outside of the EU and we won’t be taking part in shaping any of the EU policy that we will subsequently align to.
Everyone knew this when they voted so it’s not really an issue as both sides have got what they wanted.
Firms like Suzuki need to align themselves quickly to the new British mantra which is ‘adapt or die’ or alternatively, sell everything off to the Chinese.
Meh Britain is such a small part of Suzuki's business I wouldn't be surprised if they just left the market , would be a shame though they are a reliable and honest brand Everyone knew this when they voted so it’s not really an issue as both sides have got what they wanted.

Because we will still be aligned almost completely with EU rules
That's not what Sajid Javed said this week - complete opposite in fact - which will basically mean no free trade deal at the end of the year.Everyone knew this when they voted so it’s not really an issue as both sides have got what they wanted.

So every one of BMW’s cars are above 100 grams of co2 at the moment so how on earth are they going to average below 95?
Except the x30e variants of course. Expect to see all of the manufacturers pushing their BEV and PHEV ranges hard. It's the only way they stand a chance.
I'm quite fond of the idea behind the Jimny. I like its simple approach to off roading. It is a shame that all things seem to be going a bit extreme with regards to reducing pollution. Wasn't it the case that cars were only polluting an extremely small percentage of the CO2 on the planet?

They don't even offer decent colours here, no dark green... just white, silver and black. Why would anyone buy a 4x4 in white?
Needs a decent engine and 6 speed box too.
It's not gonna happen , I'm a little confused why they didn't use the M16A though since it seems vastly better than the 1.5 they have.Needs a decent engine and 6 speed box too.
Substantially more horsepower and it would make a 6th speed gearbox viable.

So yeah bit st that you can’t buy this but you can buy suv behemoths or bmw m5s with 250 co2 etc
330e is 38 g/kmSo yeah bit st that you can’t buy this but you can buy suv behemoths or bmw m5s with 250 co2 etc
There are more hybrid and electric vehicles coming in the next year or so which will start to bring their averages down. Cars which emit less than 50 g/km currently count x2 also.

And all electric would be far better for off roading then a combustion engine
Lower centre of gravity and more torque no gearbox or low range box needed
Shame makes it st on the road for distance
Are EVs ok to wade through water? Are the electric motors completely sealed?Lower centre of gravity and more torque no gearbox or low range box needed

So what happened to all the freedom that the Brexit bull**** promised. why can’t we just exempt it? We keep being told that after 31/1/2020 we no longer in Europe. I suppose it’s only when they can charge us more tax/import duties is when it counts. ******** *****
The difficulty is that our politicians know the car emissions thing is politically highly charged and front and centre of news. They’ll ignore the fact that we can import everything else from countries not properly committed to the protection of the environment at will.
Europe and the UK imports *a lot* of poor quality items from the Far East that end up in the bin within a very short time of their first service due to ridiculous/non existent QC - and even the stuff that does work has very often been made at great environmental cost. I am a manufacturer that has been forced to buy goods from the Far Eastern suppliers - I would welcome steeper import tariffs as long as all of Europe applied them. That way, I could build my items here in a responsible way with high quality, employ more staff and get less returns. Instead, they ignore all this, actually REDUCE the tariffs and then just hit the carmakers.

When will the world realise the real issue is we need to slow down the population growth rather than worrying about car emissions.
Elephant in the room that nobody seems to want to mention. It’s probably easier to stick with blaming the EU for Suzuki’s choice to not build a car to meet the regs!

But they will have to sell st-loads to get the AVERAGE below 95. Never going to happen
Easy, if you want a higher output car you have to buy a zero emissions car too. The manufacturers just have to come up with something that qualifies as a car even if it only has a ten mile battery range. Once purchased you immediately scrap it and it is returned to the factory for 100% recycling.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
