Ferrari only build cars to customer orders plus dealer demos.
Anyone buying a Lusso in the hope they can buy a Pista deserves a kicking, much like those buying Porsche SUVs and boggo 911s in the hope they can buy a GT3.
Yet there’s plenty of evidence to suggest that, for the limited edition models from most sports car manufacturers, they are choosing the customers and not the other way around. Anyone buying a Lusso in the hope they can buy a Pista deserves a kicking, much like those buying Porsche SUVs and boggo 911s in the hope they can buy a GT3.
Hence yes, you do have to have already spent a pile of money on ‘regular’, deprecating, cars, in order to get one of the special ones.
I'm not Ferrari's biggest fan (I actually prefer the older ones to the new ones) but fair play to them. They have carved out a very impressive business model and the facts speak for themselves. Without needing an SUV (yet) to prop the company up, they've delivered very strong results with very good products. Well done Ferrari.
It's simple I suppose. Ferrari make the worlds best cars. Stunning in looks and technology.
I gather they have raised their production cap? They used to limit production to 7000 cars a year to maintain exclusivety. I suppose with the impending doom of the motor car, they have discarded this frugality.

I remember when they were capped to 3000 annually. That was about 20+ years back though.I gather they have raised their production cap? They used to limit production to 7000 cars a year to maintain exclusivety. I suppose with the impending doom of the motor car, they have discarded this frugality.
