I like all 3, I'd have the GT4 out of them as seems to sit in the middle between the light weight 4pot and the heavier bruiser with the 5.2 V10 a goldilocks setting perhaps, love the interior as well.

the Audi will be great in a sprint or on a big circuit like Nurburgring etc, but on todays busy roads like in NL, its frustration you can't use it the way its meant to, no space or space in jail ;-)
Out around the Cotswolds with my two buddys who both have R8's they were quite frustrated in the end due to the width of their cars, i was in a TT RS so managed to nip on & they had to really gun it to make up ground & possibly risk the "jail" you mention a bit more than they might of...i did feel smug at the pub garden lol

He is quite an expert compared to you though, which is not very difficult in fairness.

Probably. I am more into driving than expertise.

Agreed. As I said from the start, it's possible to be an enthusiast in an auto. I have met plenty of them.

I really like the R8; I know it’s an Audi an it’s not cool to like them but I think it looks good (if a tad fussy compared to the original) and it sounds fantastic. That V10 does sound fab.

The GT4 is lovely too, but as mentioned previously actually getting one is quite tricky.

The Alpibe is growing on me. I really didn’t like them at first but think they look better in the flesh than they do in pictures. That gearbox workday out me off though and I quite like modern autos.

I suspect Timo’s car history is mainly still made of square bricks and old Athena posters.

I live in the Cotswolds, didn’t have that issue with the R8 due to width, but the Evora is quicker a-b on these roads I think because it has better steering feedback and is less affected by camber changes. The Alfa 4c was nearly undriveable due to bump steer. Haven’t tried the Alpine on these roads yet

I was lucky enough to have both the R8RWS and the 718 GT4 but one had to go. I just could not bring myself to give up the V10 given the number of turbo power plants and EV’s we are seeing. The GT4 is truly amazing but cannot match the R8 RWS for pure theatre.
