Why did you buy a Mondeo? Would a Dacia Sandero not be better in all your important ways?
No. Too small. We do have a 14 year old Fiesta, though. More convenient for town.I would have a Duster if I needed light off road ability.

This argument is ridiculous. Maybe you should move somewhere living in a communist society, clearly you don't agree with capitalism. Do you eat the most basics of food to sustain you, or do you enjoy the odd nicety, or maybe you like beer? I can't imagine so, because they are over the top and increase world CO2.

To small for what? They both will fit 5 people and bags. Surely you only travel with what you absolutely need, so luggage space shouldn't be a problem.I would have a Duster if I needed light off road ability.

I saw one of these in the wild for the first time here in Poland. (Parked outside Biedronka a sort of Polish equivalent of LIDL in a pretty poverty stricken provincial town) Utterly hideous looking thing. No idea why anyone would buy one over pretty much every other vehicle available. It just looked so wrong this one was in a shade of burn orange Peugeot 206s used to come in.
The Lamborghini urus however is amazing. Utterly over the top but I sort of get it.
Yes, they're hideous. I'm guessing that the average owner really doesn't give a damn about the exterior; it's all about the interior, quality and image of the brand that makes it worthwhile. The Lamborghini urus however is amazing. Utterly over the top but I sort of get it.
Interestingly, it appears that if somebody doesn't strive for the biggest and most expensive of everything, some people on here suggest that they must be some sort of communist.
As it happens, I walk, run and cycle a lot, for transport, commuting, shopping and for exercise.
We have an estate car, and a small supermini. The supermini gets used for urban journeys and those that don't require a bigger car. 80bhp - and only Four Cylinders! How doe we cope?
It evidently annoys some people.

I think it is your blinkered viewpoint that is annoying people. Imagine if we didn't have choice and had to have a car just suitable for our needs. Or a house just big enough, or just an adequate bed.As it happens, I walk, run and cycle a lot, for transport, commuting, shopping and for exercise.

Ah, my apologies, i obviously wasn't clear enough for you, because they wasn't what I said in the slightest. I didn't say that "if somebody doesn't strive for the biggest and most expensive of everything, some people on here suggest that they must be some sort of communist" I said that if they think it's wrong if someone DOES strive for that then that's wrong.I am saying it is fine for people to not want to biggest and most expensive, but I am saying it is communistic of someone who doesn't strive for those things to say it is wrong for those who do. Very big difference which you seem to struggle to grasp.

Not at all. I find it amusing that you suggest people are wasteful by having more than they need but then go on to motivate why you not only have a car larger than you "need", but have 2! As it happens, I walk, run and cycle a lot, for transport, commuting, shopping and for exercise.

It's a bit odd, and doesnt make sense. I personally read it as you are jealous, but it's okay, there seems to be a lot of that around here lately.

This faux outrage is odd. It's a bit odd, and doesnt make sense. I personally read it as you are jealous, but it's okay, there seems to be a lot of that around here lately.
Where does anything suggest jealousy? There appears to be some projection of people's own thoughts onto other people going on.
You may desire a hugely expensive SUV for driving about London in. I do not. I don't even suggest that others shouldn't be allowed to.

Maybe not, but you say it's excessive/unnecessary. Excessive according to who? You have alluded to the fact that many cheaper cars are comfortable enough, which gives the appearance of suggesting the Bentayga driver should "make do" with a cheaper car.
I'm sure that Bentayga drivers the world over will be touched by your unnecessary, and slightly over-zealous, defence of them. Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
