This hasn't sold because its a bad colour and the Sport 410 version of the Evora falls in to a crack making it a difficult choice when compared to the others. The 400 looks almost the same, has better seats and arguably a slightly better temperament without a noticeable difference in power. Then the GT410 is kind of better in a lot of other ways so it makes going for a Purple 410 Sport quite difficult.

Overall, they are great cars

Add into that a shape that still draws admiring glances, the best noise of the three and wonderful steering that requires no 'good, for EPAS' qualifiers and it isn't hard to make the case.
What? Better than the 4L Porsche engine?

Oh, OK. I even like the colour!

I would say the Evora is more thug like than the tuned porsche sound. Its louder. Much louder. I think it's actually illegal now. Static with the valves open 107db. Who needs a new TVR!

Maybe the colour was intended to hide the shape?

Alcantara plus Cup 2 tyres and only 3,000 miles on the clock smells like "run in on track days" to me.

Can't imagine why it hasn't sold, at only £65,000
Alcantara and Cup 2s were standard IIRC. As were the (excellent) carbon seats.

I own a Sport 410.

Just to throw a bit of balance in... I bought it instead of a 400 primarily because of the seats! I agree they are a bit too upright and will investigate spacers, but comfort is great and they sit you at a much better height (for me at least) than the Sparcos. They look great too.

They are not the same as the Elise/Exige seats by the way.

It is a great car, I did a 5 hour round trip the other day, superb fun.

Identical to the Exige Cup seats from memory, but not the regular Elise/Exige seats

If 2+2 hadn't been one of my requirements I'd have probably have considered a Sport 410 - the seats are certainly comfortable (I love the Pro-bax seats in my Elise!) when tilted correctly, and I wish my Vantage had the lightweight seats as again, they feel like big Elise seats.

You certainly sit higher in the Sparcos in the 400, which I find is good in some ways - it makes moving the car around in tight spaces and positioning it on narrow roads that bit easier as it is a fairly wide car and tastes.

They are both great cars, just two close variations on the same theme which will suit people depending on their requirements.

The Sport 410 was never a limited edition. It was lost in the Bahar era of pumping out special editions left right and centre it got superseded quite quickly by the gt cars. They also added 20k to the price which made me jump for the last untegistered 410 at the time.
It was limited to an annual production, like I said. Also - not a Bahar era car. All of the 4XX cars came out under JMG's stewardship.

Yep JMG that's the chap. Always get them mixed up. It was JMG that personally kyboshed all my warranty issues the git! All sorted by the lads in customer service as soon as he left.

Not sure what limited to an annual production means. It wasn't a limited edition. Not sure why the hair splitting. I was at the factory the day after you dropped "that" Evora video. That was interesting.

Agree totally. My 400 sounds completely savage when revving it out. When driving slowly with the exhaust valve shut it sounds a bit rough though. Think the NA Porsche’s are a bit more tuneful

Nobody was really sure why they were trying to claim a limited annual production when they struggled to sell regular Evoras in any kind of quantity anyway!

And yes, they are still rather bitter about that. I also know that he personally got in the way of my car being fixed on numerous occasions, and yet when I voiced how unhappy I was at being treated so badly I become persona non grata at Hethel. How these people intend to sell £2m+ hypercars I have no idea.

A shame, as the place was - and is - full of gifted and talented people just trying to do their very best

It means they weren't going to produce more than 150 cars per year, for however long they produced the model for. So it wasn't a limited edition because there was no set in stone end date or production number, but they in theory were limiting supply.

In reality I doubt they'd have turned anyone anyway if they'd really wanted the 151st car that year. I suspect it was just something they said to give it an extra air of rarity - quick guys, order now as they only make 150 a year - when in reality they probably weren't going to hit that upper limit anyway.

Now let me see, where's that link to common and expensive clutch failures with overboosted Camry engines. Ah yes, here we go....

"I know the Evora clutch has always been a bit of a hot topic, but mine lasted fairly well, I suppose. It failed on Friday. I was just coming to a stop in traffic, 1st gear, clutch fully engaged. There was a sudden jolt and a screeching noise, and the engine stalled. The helpful chap from the AA diagnosed it as a release bearing failure, but the guys at Lotus Silverstone say it's more likely the friction plate has come apart. Bad news is they also say there are no clutches available right now, and they already have 2 cars ahead of mine waiting for clutches, so I'm not expecting to get it back for a few weeks."
Ok, I get it, you don't like the Evora, but at least let's have the full quote:
"I know the Evora clutch has always been a bit of a hot topic, but at 10 years, and 57000 miles, mine lasted fairly well, I suppose. It failed on Friday. I was just coming to a stop in traffic, 1st gear, clutch fully engaged. There was a sudden jolt and a screeching noise, and the engine stalled."

Hardly premature.

The fact that Lotus often don't have replacements in stock *is* a much bigger concern and I agree you would have to have little regard for money to buy this one in this colour.
Exedy 641821790.
3piece clutch kit for a Camry £286 retail from ECP fits.
Lotus will try to charge double that in a 'Lotus' box. It's the same make..

The seats are on Jon Seals modified brackets and are tilted back. It’s my old car and hasn’t sold as it was priced a lot higher than this...

I didn’t track it and traded it for a 12c spider.

Is that actually the right clutch? The gearbox from the Evora isn't from the Camry, its from the Auris (and other models).

Also from memory some of cars (can't remember if all 4xx series ones, or just the 430) have a different clutch vs. the standard cars.

Edit: Checked, Evora, Evora S, Evora 400/410 and Evora GT430 all have different part numbers for the clutch plates and some other bits.

Looking for my 3rd Evora and will probably go for a 410 sport.

My cars have been used as daily’s, have driven across Europe and have always been totally reliable. On our road trips I have waited for breakdown recovery with various mates driving Porsche, Ferrari etc

The clutch stuff is bks, it mainly affected a few early cars where the installation was incorrect.

The recent manuals have a lovely gear change.

Give me a rare sports car with telepathic steering, loads of carbon fibre rather than a common Brand with good handling only because it’s loaded with electronic gizmos.
