We've got 4, for 2 drivers. Wife has a FL2, I have a 530e company car, a 997 C2S, and a RR VSE TDV8. It's only the 911 that doesn't get much use.

2 daily drives and the Elise should be the lot but I have an event coming up that needs a few cars so I actually own six snotters as well. Plus the bike.

That is an awesome line up!

So, come on, someone answer my earlier post - is it not a fookin nightmare to keep on top of tax, MOT's, servicing, insurance etc! Every month one of them must need something, and that is before repairs!

Another Carowner virus sufferer here.
I’ve had literally hundreds of cars over the last 40 years of driving and I hate the feelings of looking back and saying “I wish I’d have kept that”. However for the last 10 years or so I’ve fixed the problem by just keeping almost everything. Currently on 8 all taxed and insured:
Porsche Cayman R
Porsche 718 Spyder
Audi R8 RWS
Lotus Elise S1 111S
Renault Megane 275 CupS
Mini Clubman 1275GT
Mercedes ML420
Ford Focus 1.6i Gen1
Plus a Merc Sprinter Van

I’ve just put a planning application in for a really, really big garage as I’ve rather outgrown the current one.
The biggest problem is actually driving them all, I managed to use 4 of them last weekend which is a good result.

I am looking to add a couple of all time favorites over the next year or two. I want a good clean E60 M5, I had 3 of them when they were new and loved them. I have been looking for a late 80’s Honda Accord Aerodeck 2.0EXi for a couple of years now but even in Japan they are gone forever as far as I can tell, gutted as it was Mrs Bigmowlies favorite car of all time.

I insure everything in one hit business . I enjoy repairing more than driving in fact I only drive them in the summer as there all pristine . I budget 600 a month repairs usually have good pot for mods then . Or another laugh

I currently have 2 and the wife one also. My drive will take 3 cars plus I have a usable garage but unfortunately as they have to line up it's a pain to get the back one out.

I am seriously considering buying another now but I think it will mean I have to rent a garage nearby to store the track car as the movements required to get cars out will start to get a bit ridiculous.

Just happened on this topic, how may cars? Ideally I would have kept a few more.

Longest owned that i have is E39 M5 I am the 2nd owner and had it for 17yrs. Will hang onto it for a bit longer. The pain of seeing my E24 M635 driving away that I sold for no good reason 15 yrs ago lives with me to this day.

My car purchases have always been in groups with some years in between. Latest acquisition in Jan this year, Alpina D3 touring which replaced a previous D3 Touring which I had no intention of changing but it sort of just happened.

The joy of having paid off the mortgage a few years ago does help. On the downside this means that you are old enough to have paid off your mortgage, bugger!

December last year I was musing through the BMW used car website again, having for the last 12 months or more been idly wondering about an F10 M5 as they looked almost sensibly priced when I happened upon an offer for the M4 Comp that looked to good to ignore, up until then i had never even thought of an M4. 2 days later and a trip to Dick Lovetts in Swindon and blow me down if I didn't end up with one. It is on a 4 year PCP that man maths decreed was a bargain way to rent for 4 years then hand it back. This has meant that my half intended retirement in 2 years or so has gone for a bit of burton. Sorry Mrs Wife. Obviously as I am going to hand it back in 4 years I do not have to worry about driving it as though it is a long term keeper. That is why I have run it in by the book and will have yearly JIC oil changes rather then go up to two years between changes as per the BMW schedule, Mmm.

Mustn't forget to mention the Capri Mk 2 (I've no idea why either) or the 1978 911 in horrendous green that was exchanged for an NSX. Also a 205Gti bought because Stirling Moss was the 1st owner (obviously Mrs Wife all of these old things will make us a lot of money so it would be stupid not to buy them). Slight cloud on the horizon could be when the old things are actually sold and the amount of profit predicted is a touch short. I know, keep them for a bit longer and just hope my cheap lock up storage doesn't disappear anytime soon or else I will be a bit stuffed.

One of the pitfalls of having this car problem is that it is not possible with any credibility to say I'm sorry Mrs wife but we cant really afford a new front door or something along those lines.

Should mention in my defence that Mrs Wife has an SLK and recent Fiesta ST ish .

I am thinking looking for of some form of professional psychiatric help.

Do you think that if I keep saying you're only young once (actually that ship sailed years ago) over and over there is some form of redemption somewhere.

I feel better for that, now back to the classifieds.

Well true to form, PH has helped me again. Looks like my target of 7 is back under way.
Need to get something actually jdm in there, perhaps a Porsche caymen first gen and an suv for the hell of it. I’ll just have to do more driving to keep the butteries charged...whoa is me.

No, I have one car and the wife has one car.

However, if you were to change the title to "Anyone else keep buying more and more turntables?" my answer would be very different.

(32 currently...biggrin)
Do you use them in rotation?

Just one car each for me and the boss but three bikes. I’d love to get rid of one of the bikes, then I’d have room to work in the garage.

I seem to have got up to 13 cars without too much effort...!

In no particular order

Lancia Integrale EVO 2

Alfa SZ Zagato

Alfa GT junior

Caterham 7 HPC

Porsche 993 C4S

Porsche 718 Boxster

Mercedes Pagoda 250 SL

Fiat 500 (1971) Abarth spec'

Abarth 595 Competizione

Lotus Elise 220SC

Smart Brabus Roadster

Audi TT 3.2 ( Mk 1 )

Datsun 240Z ( hotrod spec )

A far cry from buying my first car - a Morris Minor - for £15 many years ago.

One of my friends has 122 motorbikes and "about" 65 cars ( he can't remember how many ) and makes me look like an amateur !

I also have far too many, sold two last year: E46 M3 and E93 325, but still have:

Ford Ranger
2 Honda HRVs (owned by the wife, in 2 countries)
986 Boxster
205 Gti
RS Focus
Jag XK8

5 motorbikes

I know I should thin them a little but can’t decide what to do, really fancy an old MG as well !

11 here sadly and two have to be stored off site which as we all know means little or no use

Going to have to downsize soon I think as shuffling cars around to access the one at the back is becoming tiring and some have not been used in years.

Oh the shame...

at most I had 3 and that was a difficult shuffle.. would've loved to keep all 3 but one had to go.

previous fleet -;

bmw z4, mk1 mx5 and daihatsu copen
then the z4 went
then the lexus is250 came
then the copen went
then the s2000 came..
then the mx5 had to go..

now I am down to 2 cars

toyota crown and 04 s2000.

I regret selling my mx5 big time but I had no space and didn't want it sitting on the road frown

Was up to five at one point, now down to a far more optimal two.

I find that after a certain point, your cars tend to own you.
