That’s a good fleet.

I think a loaf lugged is next on my list since selling the RX. Fancy a jdm turbo estate.

I really fancy a 911 as an occasional family car in either 996 or 997 flavour. Not sure they will be as focused as I want though which may mean chucking thousands at it to bring it up to scratch.

And they don't slide as easily as a BMW unfortunately.

Not more and more, but gradually upgrading. I think our fleet is just about perfect for us now:

2016 Ford Fiesta ST-2
2017 Mercedes GLC
2020 Caterham Seven 310R

I keep looking at 24v Busso Alfas.

Like the idea of a NA V6, but not sure if it was ever applied to anything other than front wheel drive cars ?
Last FWD I had was a Turbo Saab 9-3 10 years ago and the torque steer was appalling.

Maybe a well set up Alfa GTV Busso would complement the current fleet :

4.0 Supercharged V8 in the Jaguar XJR
3.4 Straight 6 NA in the BMW Z4MC
2.5 Turbo Flat 4 Boxer in the Subaru Impreza

Thanks

Just a little lockdown bump to see if anyone has impulsively added to their fleets.

I haven’t yet but constantly looking at classifieds as nothing better to do in the evenings (who am I kidding, I do that without lockdown).

Just reread the thread hoping for some inspiration.

Got another farm shed being constructed to house the cars. Just too easy to buy these days

Just the two Japanese Domestic Appliances at present, but there is room on the drive to add one, or two small, interesting cars. I had nearly bought something more niche on two separate occasions last year, so when the lockdown finishes then the N+1 rule will definitely apply. In the meantime it's fun looking smile

Brightwells are auctioning all the army Wolf Landrovers at the moment. For some unknown reason, Mrs rxe is encouraging me to buy one. Unfortunately, I have browsed the auction and found these for sale:

I have no idea what I would do with it, but I really want one. Mrs rxe not so sure.

I quite fancy a (W205) C63 coupe, or 997.2, or even a 991.

Obviously none are practical.

Already have a F31 335i. Since the trade in for my F31 would be so poor I am thinking sod it and keep it as a practical wagon. Can always donate to my Mum when her Focus dies.

I have no parking, live in London and would only use either car for short trips. it would actually be cheaper to use Uber, but where is the fun in that?

I'm wondering what people do for insurance on their car collections?

Do people go for individual policies, multicar policies from mainstream insurers or am I missing a trick and there's something else somewhere?

I currently own two cars, nothing special,

Volvo V60 (61 plate)
MX-5 (04 plate)

and the wife has a Mini Countryman (14 plate)

I'm planning on buying a third car sometime between July and next March, not determined what yet but something in the 15-20k range which will be a weekend toy for myself and the MX-5 will be stored elsewhere but still insured to drive to and from track days so minimal mileage, as such I will need a third policy of some kind, any tips on the best way of insuring multiple cars or do I start again building up a third lot of NCB?

Just got the V6 Spider out for the first time this year. Had a little pointless journey just to blow out the cobwebs. Ear to ear grin even with the torque steer driving

A Quaife differential upgrade is the solution but to be honest I prefer the character and unless you're going to track it you adjust your style accordingly. So go and get one!

For people with lots of older cars, how do you maintain them all? Or do you just not drive them too much / not worry too much?

I seem to buy cars, currently have two, and then start going down the restoring route, rebushing and replacing old parts etc. Perhaps I'm too much of a perfectionist.

I do as much maintenance myself as I can unless I really can’t be bothered or a lift is required. I would like them all to be perfect all the time but then I’d have nothing else to do or save for...except retirement but the current situation has kind of put me off that idea as it’s so bloody boring!
