What will the Bradford crew do with them? Audi have already done their favourite modifications at the factory.

Steal them at knifepoint?

Quite like that, even though I'm not generally a fan of Audis.

However I cannot stand privacy glass - it really does make the car look like a van, more so with this incarnation.

This - so much this!

I'm relieved actually - I thought I was the only person who hated privacy glass.

Suits those who like to keep a low profile AND those with extrovert tastes? Truly a miracle car then!

I thought the German's weren't supposed to have a sense of humour?

Because someone's having a laugh. £82,000 !!!!! For an A4?
You're getting confused, it's an RS4. I don't think the A4 can be had with this engine, gearbox, suspension, interior bits, brakes and several different body panels.
I'm not confused at all. The car is an A4. Yes with a bigger engine and wider body, but just an A4. Just like an RS3 is an A3, and an RS6 is a A6.

It's just the RS4 is top of the A4 Tree.

It's still £82,000 for an Audi A4.
By that logic, the LaFerrari is the same as an F12 - same engine in different state of tune, there's just different gubbins stuck on/taken away wink

Looks like Mr. and Mrs. Vader's family hack.

Plenty of room for Luke and Leia in the back.

Problem is, Darth doesn't like the handling. It's far too heavy, and therefore with Death Star like inertia - it doesn't like to go round corners. Fast in a straight-line, but boringly dull everywhere else. Typical Audi then. All looks, noise and flash, but no real performance car substance.

Good job he has a light-weight Tie Fighter in the garage on a battery minder. For those days when he just needs a reasonable amount of straight-line performance - but by heck, it loves to carve up Death Star surface obstacles at the weekend!

Is it the same model if the engine, gearbox, suspension, drivetrain, brakes, interior bits and multiple body panels etc are different though? I'm not sure. I don't think so. The difference in how an RS4 drives is much bigger than the difference between general A4 models, as they're just changes in engine. One could argue that it's a totally different model with a similar-looking body.

Not to spoil your Star Wars story, but didn't the much older generation RS4 whip round the Top Gear test track faster than an exige, in the same time as an Evora? I find your lack of faith in its handling disturbing.

Really? That's tragic. Still probably won't be long before manufacturers are hiding any exhausts all together to look more green!

LOL. Good response.

Dunsfold is actually quite forgiving. It's plenty wide in places with lots of fast straight sections - perfect territory for an under-steering Audi. Quite different to your average 'B' road.

It seems that Audi think that the way to improve the cars handling / grip is to add even more rubber to the corners. As a way to combat the cars weight and the distribution of said weight.

The more rubber they add, the more lifeless the steering gets, the more isolated the driver feels. The car is fast, but doesn't feel it. Even if it is quick round Dunsfold - an Exige or Evora is a much more exciting proposition. They'll feel quick too.

Wait, we're comparing purpose built sports cars to estate cars now?

£82,000 for a super fast car that looks like a hearse and will spend most of its life stuck in traffic or behind slower cars. Solution; buy a nice comfy car for when you need it and a motorbike for when you want to enjoy the roads. Much more fun, half as much money
