£45k for an Audi 80 in 1994. Just as well there weren’t any mugs out there willing to buy them!

Not only that, but history agrees they were terrible in every way! laugh
Lovely looking car, with far more design integrity than the latest offering. BTW it doesn't matter how hard people argue - the current RS4 is part of the A4 range, and is meant to look it - that's the whole point of the car! To a casual observer it will, at most, look like an A4 estate blinged up, and that's if the casual observer even knows the differences in the Audi range.

I'm not sure that what you're describing here is that much of a departure from forever in the RS line up...

A very similar ethos to the RS2 he is eulogising over, an Audi 80 estate with a subtle body kit, different wheels and red Porsche callipers

Price doesn’t stack up too well compared to a M340 Touring which starts at £50K

just as well it's not a rival for it then. Audi have pitched the (diesel) S4 Avant against it thumbup

Jesus, what a tragic situation it is when car types are bemoaning a nigh on 500bhp estate car. Like it or not, thank God Audi still have the balls to knock stuff like this out even if it is £80k+ and more so in a world that is rapidly killing cars like this.

I love it, simply because it's a bit mental. Just like the "primer grey" RS6 Avant that was parked up near by today. I think if you look at such cars, snort and say "it's just an A6" then there's something amiss.

One day cars like this will cease to exist.
