That looks brilliant in yellow! Let's hope they change their mind on making it exclusive to the limited edition, I wouldn't pay extra to have one without aircon or a stereo.

Article says it's a five seater...is that correct?

This is all great but this is a Type-R. Where's one in white?
Championship white is already available.

I took a CTR out for a day long test drive last week. Overall very impressed, but there are a two niggles holding me back, one of which the Sport Line will address:
Drive modes - It's been said before but it could really do with a custom mode to allow "comfort" dampers and "sport" mode for everything else. I feel a reduction in wheel size would go some way to solve this and make for a better B road blaster.
Size - Again it's been said before, but this really is quite a wide car and that means less road to work with. You often have to put the car right at the edge of the road where the wheels are exposed to more bumps exacerbating the drive mode issue.
Otherwise it is really a great package. I can see past the looks, but being a bit older and using the car for work would probably favour the Sport Line model. Also the infotainment, although clunky was fine. I tend to just default to CarPlay and that worked without issue.

There's some definite porkies being told somewhere at Honda.

Wonder how 'almost standard' the record breaking car really was? Astonishing that nobody with a real car seems to have got anywhere near Honda's performance claims.
For starters, the in-car vid of the ‘Ring record shows the driver fighting the steering during heavy braking because of rear-end instability, which suggests a geometry and suspension setup that maximises front-end grip?
The ‘Ring car could’ve also had many more under-the-skin cheats - eg, a bespoke remap + special fuel; no aircon; no stereo speakers or soundproofing; no airbags; no side impact bars in doors; all electric window motors removed, apart from driver’s; rear doors welded shut to stiffen the bodyshell; strut-braces in the engine bay and boot; plastic sheets screwed to the underside to smooth airflow / improve high-speed aero; trick Öhlins Racing-type dampers; racing-spec, short-life brake pads / discs; a torsion beam rear axle to reduce weight, etc, etc?

Wonder where these will be built now Swindon is closing?
Swindon is closing at the end of this FK's product cycle - 2021 or 2022.

Next Civic will likely be imported from the US - its biggest market, so it makes sense to build it there.

Problem is, when you get caught telling lies, people start to think about the rest of what you say...
Unless you're in Govt or run some of the tabloids of course.... then it's fair game apparently

Its funny how these new cars come with ever lager wheels, yet anyone who uses a proper track set up car tends to drop to smaller wheels. The Megane 275's are so much better on 17 x 9's yet renault insist on banging 19's on them. I would love to have seen the aggressive Type r with the lower wing, no rear seats and some smaller lighter wheels. I think the toned down one is the best looking one now

Agree, larger sidewalls are so much better for road driving, with pot holes and kerbs, and giving the suspension and bushings an easier life. Tyres are cheaper and last longer.

I would much rather 18s than 19s.

I think due to impact regulations on new cars, body work above the engine has grown, so to give cars sporty proportions wheels have grown.

New rs6 with its 22" wheels are an example of where this is heading.

Aren’t the RS6’s 22s actually lighter than the 21s, I think it’s because they’re forged?

Will the brakes fit with 17" wheels on these.

Seems like genuinely good updates to a car that was already at the top of the hot hatch segment in many ways. Yellow a nice throw back to previous Type R's and it doesn't fart when you change gear.

Love it.

But a set of forged 21s would be lighter still...

Tell me about it. I am on 18 ' mainly for the choice and cost of tyres. AD08Rs being the prime example that don't come in the 19' tyre size, let alone in 20'.

Yes, the boot, whilst sufficient, isn't massive and the rear head room tapers in quite a bit due to the rear screen angle, so not great for big dags wink

Shame they don't make an auto one.

I know it kind of ruins the point of it, but I can't do manual cars due to my knee.

I guess if they did it'd be a crappy cvt gearbox, so probably a good thing!
