VAG group W engines are based on VR6 design which is fundamentally flawed.
1600hp is considerable but Koenigsegg get similar figures from significantly less swept volume.
I’m sure people are getting 1000+bhp out of the 2.8 vr6 when it’s turbocharged. I guess the flaw is it’s not doing 2000bhp?

The biggest achievement with these cars is the reliability and accessibility of them, wont get that out of a 1000bhp vr6..

No not at all but you wouldn’t expect something that made 174bhp to make a reliable 1000bhp. But you can’t call a vr6 flawed if it can make that much power.

Anyway, the Chiron. It’s lovely! But I also like the photo of the st brown interior of the Veyron.

The world's single most pointless car. Unless I can resell immediately to make money, given the choice between this and a Swift Sport, I'd take the latter without blinking an eye.

It seems a bit short of exhausts when a Golf R apparently needs 4 tail-pipes!

As technological as it may be, it just seems a bit cr*p to me - digital overload. laugh

Spoils it for me, so I'm out.

Otherwise stunning. Unsure as to whether it will age better than the veyron however.

I actually think the Veyron has aged reasonably poorly. I much prefer the Chiron. I wouldn't say no to either, mind :lauh:

Nurburgring time????

Seriously how fast are these around a track, super powerful but also super heavy. Would the brakes and gearbox take flying laps of the ring?

Are they designed for that? They're a Bentley CGT on steroids in my book.

Not exactly sure what they are designed for, apart from garage queens for billionaires and fastest in the world kudos for VW group.

A ring time SHOULD BE more relevant to this type of car than driving down Mayfair, but sadly probably isnt!

Why should the ring time be more relevant? They probably won't get driven on it, and they aren't a track car? Seems like a ring time would be pretty irrelevant to me to be honest.

We should celebrate that they've sold 250 Chirons in 2 years. That's a $3m car!!

I'm not sure what we're celebrating? Or why we are. If I was a Bugatti engineer or part of the Programme i guess it would be different.
