Interesting how much they chose to pay homage to that design classic the Kia Sportage:

They masked off the upper outer corners of the rear lamps:
Yes. They both have four wheels. Identical!

If they spent more time making decent cars and less time on expensive options maybe Aston Martin will become financially viable. Does anybody really want madly overpriced carbon fiber on an SUV, does this improve the reliability, driving experience or ownership joy. No. Will it help on resale value, no and does it increase new vehicle sales, no.

It will make Aston's bank balance hundreds of pounds heavier, though. thumbup

I saw my first DBX at the weekend ,parked outside Romans ,receiving a bit of attention from people as it had

a green Zebra wrap on it ,Tag Heuer branding and red "lips" round the grill.

I didn't like it.

I have never been a fan of SUVs and never will, but if I absolutely had to get one, this would be it. To my eyes, the only luxury SUV with some elegance to it although this blacked out version dramatically and negatively affects that.
Whh..what? Elegance?

Are we looking at the same car?

The one that looks like a fat boy version of the Nissan Juke with a duck tail.

That one?

Elegance?

Really? Get new eyes.

Here are some fancy expensive bits etc

I’d prefer the lambo but I also know that is going to go down even worse than the Aston.

Either way and as others say they need this car for sales, just hope it’s not too late.

Cut the BS and hype, Aston.
If the DBX cannot match or win at Top Trumps against the Bentayga or Cayenne, or that Audi beast that looks like a Lego fetishist’s wet dream, then it’s only going to be bought by a handful of Ascot housewives.
Why buy a ‘look at me!” SUV that’s slower, more expensive, and probably less reliable, than its rivals?
Why isn’t the DBX getting the AMG E63 S estate’s version of the V8?

Mmmmm, you believing some forum posts of those that have never owned an Aston?
Apart from the Bentayga, its faster if not the same as the others. Dont forget its only one model....how many Cayenne's are there? 5 i think.
Reliability...yes its a unknown car and i wish Aston would release the bloody thing but no outward issues with the recent new cars they have released and actually speak to an Aston owner, there is not much that go wrong with them.

It's not inconceivable that elegance is subjective. I find it quite elegant indeed, and my eyes are pretty sharp.

Car & Driver, for example, timed a Bentayga V8’s 0-60 at 3.6secs.
The Cayenne Turbo and the Turbo hybrid version both achieve 0-60 in c. 3.6secs.
So, all of the above are quicker than the DBX - and all of the above are cheaper. As is the Audi RS Q8.
And let’s not forget the Urus, which also outguns the DBX, albeit at approx the same cost.
DBX reliability? There’s an alarming amount of new complexity on the DBX for Aston’s engineers: extra electronic systems, diffs, drive shafts, active ARBs, variable ride-height suspension, etc.
Aston is debuting its take on a type of vehicle that Land Rover still can’t build/engineer reliably. Or maybe the Toyota gurus that Bez hired can sprinkle some Land Cruiser fairy dust on the DBX?

Wrong.
If it's subjective, it can't be wrong, nor right, by definition. It simply varies from one person to another, from one subject to another if you like.

It's fine that you don't fine the car elegant, that's your subjective view, but others seem to find it elegant, including me.

Why? Are they a poor fit laugh

I saw one in red bull livery at Barbican. I'd like to see one in a darker colour but it didn't look bad. I wish them the best of luck - produce SUVs to bankroll the sports cars like Porsche.

The expense of materials and handiwork required to make and fit them is really very impressive, and no doubt amounts to a lot of added value to the DBX,
I don't think it has added value. It has added cost.
