Unless there has been some sea change in policy (which I would welcome) the new car won't come on Michelins on whatever rim. I am only responding to you (again) because it's been a beef of mine with Audi for some time, nothing personal I promise you and I would be more than happy to be proved wrong, but images on the configurator (if that is what you base your theory on) mean nowt.

Please stop regarding your own experience as being gospel - I stopped replying to you out of decency, as having been driving well over 30 years now (and with my current stable of 2 and 4 wheeled vehicles being well in to double figures too), I'm naturally always going to defer to my own experience first, rather than some stranger on PH. So you were never 'offered' a choice in the past: but that doesn't mean alternatives weren't/aren't available or a choice was possible. You could ask 'why would a salesman 'offer' you an alternative if there is no additional money in it for them?' But as I said before, that is between you and YOUR dealership - they are not all the same, and I've NEVER had an issue with choice in the past (though granted the options weren't unlimited - but there were always still options). Due to my background, I/we tend to get a bit OCD when it comes to tyres, so it is always a question that I 'ask', as oppose to being offered, so maybe next time, actually ask - or change dealership? But again, PLEASE stop trying to force your own personal experience on to others and try maintain that it is the only possible one that exists: If you were happy to just accept what was given to you, then be happy with it - there's going to be bugger all noticeable difference between most of them anyway on a day-to-day basis, so will be of zero interest to 99% of buyers anyway. But just because you didn't ask, doesn't mean it isn't possible: you have your experiences, I have mine.

MAYBE you are correct, and it isn't standard Audi policy, and my experience is purely just down to a very accommodating dealership. But when we're talking about such significant investments here, I'm certainly not going to expect - nor accept - a salesman to reply to me with 'I dunno what tyres they come on, we just flog them with whatever rubber comes on 'em when they get here': you don't ask, you don't receive.

I'll be saying no more on this - can't believe I wasted this much time on it as I did.

My only interest was to see if I'd missed something and if there was any substance behind your assertion that Michelins are on the configurator and that the 22 rims come on Michelins, but I see now that the statements are false as it's all down to a dealer request. I guess when you have a 'stable' you have to find some use for all the horse st.

Ok, I know I said I wasn't going to say any more on this, but I guess someone else out there must have been listening, as I'm just after being notified of the latest 'Lovecars' YouTube video, pitting the AMG GT63 S against the RS6..........

....... I didn't know Hankook made a 'P-Zero', but you learn something new every day.

Could have saved a lot of time and written something along the lines, 'I don't care what tyres they come on, I see to it that it has the ones I want when spending this kind of money.' Which is exactly what I do, will even try several different tyre and wheel setups untill I'm happy...

My point was more that I don't like the trend where cars increasingly are more about bling and less about substance... But in the grand scheme of things, who cares, it doesn't matter and all is vanity of sorts.
