these cars have a special place in my heart, i remember when these were brand new as a kid, and i managed to buy one in 2005 - it had something like 18/20k miles, 1 owner (jim marshall RIP), always garaged, mint condition 1992 UK TT 2+2 (which all UK cars were) in Red (perfect, detailed etc, not faded).
I did the standard stuff at the time incl KYB adjustable shocks, blueflame catback, apexi intake, eibach lowering springs, nismo bushes all around, poly subframe bushes, whiteline solid F+R ARBs, R33 GTR Brembos, DBA Discs, 350z Rays lightweight forged 18" Rims. Car drove and handled beautifully. While I'm a fan of very focussed mods such as these, others included genuine OEM '99 spec front bumper, rear lights and spoiler - i'm a fan of the OEM look because its lines are timeless.
the car looked amazing - unfortunately it got written off a couple of years later for reasons i dont want to go into! i have since longed for another; i tell myself i'll get a genuine 99 spec some day... but those are rising in price sharply from what i can tell on the auction sites.

Ran a J plate n/a fair lady in the early noughties. Twas a lemon, bubbling, crankshaft issues, alternator left me stranded 300 miles from home and cooling problems. However I loved it, fantastic engine, Targa panel and I topped it off with the obligatory under floor running neon running lights
Kind of been in the Supras shadow for a while these, also the late nineties and the 2000s were not kind to them, initially seemed to be well heeled professional types and then the imports arrived and a full programme of barrification was undertaken for most of them.
There is one that has loads of kit on it that does the rounds of shows, it has led lights under the bonnet, yellow metalfake paint and loads of LCD screens, where these, like the Supra generally look best standard and not the full dogs dinner with Veilside kits, flip paint and massive wheels.
My main stumbling block would be how complicated and cramped the engine bay is.

Ah memories...had one of these back in 2004 as a 20yr uni student. Bought it in Newcastle and after 4 hours of cruising around I managed to get as far as Jct 34 of the M6 before disaster struck!
If only I’d known what pinking was at the time then I might have pulled over, as it happened I just turned the radio up shortly before loosing all power whilst in lane three. Managed to coast across to the hard shoulder and call the AA, approximately 45 Mins later when the AA man turned up he burnt his hand on a still red hot engine.
It transpired that the water pump had failed and it had got so hot that the plugs had fused into the block (so I was told) and it ended up needing a new engine. At least my mates had a good laugh!

I've always had a soft spot for these, I remember sitting in one at a dealers when my mum bought a 100nx sometime in either 90 or 91. To my 8 year old self it looked like something from the future and seemed so hi-tec.
I remember Nissan gave us a VHS in which Tiff Needell drove and reviewed the 300zx, 200sx and the 100nx. I become somewhat obsessed with them thereafter, but alas never owned one and probably never will. By the time I passed my test in 99 they begun their decent into the hands of 'something fast and cheap' owners and garnered something of a reputation as a hooligans car.

Always fancied driving one of these, they never had much appreciation back in the day considering how good a job Nissan did with these, Nissan produced some great cars around this era.
I’ve currently got a 350z (and soon to pick up a 370z) I wonder if there is any similarity to how the older V6 drives.

I've always really wanted one of these, I'd still like to scratch the itch at some point but decent examples like this one are getting pricey now so it's looking less realistic.
The 300ZX is still a lovely shape to my eye, many reviews from the period said that they were bloated and OTT but I think they've actually aged really well, very sleek and clean next to many modern coupes. When they are lowered somewhat onto some tasteful 17's they look the business.

Always liked the short wheelbase cars, could never get my head around the transverse engine, rwd layout.
If you are meaning the Z32 it is not transverse it is longitudinal. But I also agree never understood transverse and rwd layouts
